Donald Duck in Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway?

I really couldn't find another place to post this, so here it is...

In my reading a lot of information about Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, most sources have referenced the characters who are going to be in the ride. They obviously include Mickey, Minnie and Goofy (who is your train engineer). Some sources also mention Pluto (allegedly on the drive with Mickey and Minnie) and even Daisy, who will have a dance studio in one scene.

However, in all of the information on the ride I've found, it seems like they never mention one other member of Mickey's inner circle, one very significant character: Donald Duck. Is he not going to be in the ride at all? If he is, where will he be? I personally think he should assist Goofy in operating the train (probably as a fireman (stoking the coal, etc.) or maybe as a conductor), or at the very least appear with Daisy in her scene (one video describing the ride shows a clip of them dancing together awkwardly, as in a scene from a short called "The Adorable Couple").

What's going on? I really hope Donald makes it into the ride. It would be awkward for him not to be there. And yet sources have been relatively silent on his presence in the ride. So can anyone explain what's going on? And please, no joking non-answers, please.

We don't know the full details so he may be in there, but yes, no mention of him yet

It is named Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway though, not "The Fab 5 Runaway Railway" so i, personally, am not expecting to see him .... If he has a cameo, then great, but if not I don't see an issue with it

But everyone else has been mentioned at some point or another, so I don't see why they wouldn't mention his name at this late juncture, at least in passing, especially since it's going to (FINALLY) open early next year. It should be remembered, also, that it was originally supposed to open this year, but it didn't for some reason.

I think he’ll be in there... it would be odd to have everyone else and exclude Donald!

Exactly. Again, I'm just confused as to why they haven't mentioned his name yet, at least in passing if nothing else. I'm also hoping that if he does appear, it's more than just a cameo. Maybe an appearance in Daisy's dance studio, if nothing else, even though it's called, as I said, Daisy's Dance Studio, not Donald and Daisy's Dance Studio.

Donald essentially staged a coup over at Mickey's Philharmagic, taking the spotlight from Mickey for nearly the entire show. If I were Mickey I'd think twice about including him in another attraction with my name on it. :earboy2:

I think that's kind of a joking non-answer. I wanted real answers, not jokes or sarcasm (the latter, incidentally, is not allowed on these forums).

Pretty sure you already got your real answer... nobody knows.
Plus, what fun would a forum (or the world for that matter) be without a little joking and sarcasm. Half of these threads wouldn't even exist lol.

Not really. We both know the parks are Duck discriminators, outside of that Dinoland hash. Tryin finding good Donald stuff anywhere....or heck, sometimes just stuff with him. Most underappreciated Fab 5.

If that's the case, why then is Donald the "true" star of Mickey's PhilharMagic? Or why does Donald appear prominently in the boat ride in Mexico's boat ride?

Personally, I thought Pluto was the least appreciated of the Fab Five. He doesn't even speak.

And he doesn’t get to drive the car either!

I'm well aware of the rules, but thank you.
It's just not well enforced when the posts are in good fun. If you can't take a little joking here and there, this may not be the place for you.

It'd be nice if Donald at least gets a cameo. If not, we can still see him in Philharmagic, Gran Fiesta Tour and Hall of Presidents.

Wow. For someone who joined a while ago and really hasn't contributed, your attitude is a bit strong.

My advice would be to lighten up and enjoy. Sometimes, humor needs to be injected.

To answer your question, no one knows because Disney hasn't announced anything officially. Rumors are rumors and many times take a life of their own. As a former bus driver, I could come out and say I know what characters are in it, someone picks it up and runs with it as former bus drivers know things that even imagineering don't.

Unfortunately, you are going to have to wait until Disney releases something on the ride to know if Donald will be in the ride.

Donald is my favorite and I completely agree with this.

I always thought that Pluto was the least appreciated of the Fab Five. There have been times where Pluto is replaced by Daisy in that #5 spot, at least on "Roadster Racers" and even the "Mickey Mouse" 2010s series.

I don't know if this the right place to post this, but is there ANY hope if this being open before the middle of March?

Last year we did the dining with an imagineer and our host was working on this project, pretty high up it seemed. I wish we had known to ask this then. Don't know if he could have answered, but it would have been interesting to see his response. :scratchin

Donald is DH's fav. :donald: I had just assumed everyone would have at least a cameo, and I still think at least the fab 5+ will. Lots of people have a favorite character and would tend to view the ride more favorably if their character is included. As long as it doesn't take anything away from the story line, why not!
