Don’t you turn that commercial- it’s my 30 second Disney fix! TR Link Posted

I love the big reveal! It all looked so great with the stuffed Mickey!
And, your story is just priceless. Chocolate would distract me too, especially if it is Dark Chocolate!

Oh, & your kids looked adorable in their Easter outfits!

Too bad you didn't get the Memories reaction, but I have to say, that looks like a fabulous chocolate bunny! A chocolate bunny that snaps apart! Genius. I'm so looking for those next year.

The Easter bags were really cute, too. Rapunzel and Lightning, perfect.

We do the same thing, bring breakfasty food to have in the room so we can save credits for later. I think it's nice to eat quickly in the mornings and get going on the day. Unless, of course, the day includes Tonga Toast, in which case, it's worth the wait.

I've never seen the episode of Rosanne where they all go to Disney World, but it sounds good. Actually I've never seen any episodes of Rosanne, but I bet that one is a good one to start with.:thumbsup2

LOL Chocolate is definitely a distraction allright! I bet she is very excited though. Hope you figure out how to edit the video, would love to see it. Granted, I think you should keep te original just to laugh at later.

:lmao: definitely need to keep the original too. I have not gotten back to the video this week yet. the to-do list is growing and the weather news has had me mesmorized.

My kids crack me up each and every day. Just yesterday, Maya told her teacher that we are no longer going to the beach in Japan for vacation- where does she even get that stuff?

thanks for the compliments!

I have to "give Props" to DH for those bunnies. It had been weeks since i had a kid free moment other than work so DH picked those up for me. I think he got them at Kroger?

Last trip, we took three bags to the park each day. the small camera bag stays with us on rides and has the cameras, money, etc. A small backpack diaper bag can be worn or hung on the back of the stroller with things we know we will need to get into a few times a day- wipes, diapers, sunscreen, etc. and then i stuck a reusable bag in the bottom of the stroller with things we would need one time or less- glowsticks, extra outfits, etc. we also shoved anything we purchased in the reusable bags. when it was time to fold up the stoller we just grabbed the bag and were ready to go. i think we will take these for that purpose this time.

we may use our snack credits a day or two for breakfast- but there are too many great sweet treats to do that everyday!

i watch a lot of rerun shows at night after the kids go to bed and before Chris gets home. Roseanne is one of my favorites. I always laugh at it for two reasons. the first is the clothing. i can't believe that stuff used to be in style! the second is because she is such a smarty pants. She has a really sarcastic way of punishing her kids. One of them got in trouble for something one time, so she dressed up like a hillbilly farmer and drove him to school! :rotfl2:

Your kids' reactions are pretty funny. I think Molly would have the same reaction if there was chocolate, and because I've talked about Disney WAY too much in the last couple of months.

Your trip is SOOOO close, I'm excited for you! I can't wait to start reading the TR. Are you going to post any while you are there?

A long time ago, someone asked me what powers i would choose if i was a superhero. My response was:

A clock stopper and a third hand.

cant you all see those as useful things to have?

i really could use the clock stopper right now. I know, that probably sounds wierd when i am almost to single digits. But I would love to have a few extra hours alone kid free, coworker free, to get some things done! We spent 48 hours straight watching local weather coverage and then spent all my free time watching the events unfold south of us the next day. (Please dont get into a discussion on this on here; my area was lucky; i hope everyone on here is safe; i only bring this up in relation to time)

my husband's workplace is one that will have to close this weekend for flooding. (Historic river stages). We were hoping that would mean some extra time off for him to help me with any last minute vacation things but it doesn't look like that will be true. They will have to spend a couple days after they close getting everything set up, locked up, frozen, moved, etc, etc. Plus, they still have to feed security and are under contract to feed certain employees 3 meals a day. So right now, we have no idea what he will work next week. All i know is that it will impact our school/ daycare/ speech schedules. I'm hoping i can use all my resources and not have to go in late/ stay late- i hate having to make any changes to my schedule close to vacation.

this morning i made cards for the characters commonly found in the park.
i have to say, i am really getting excited for the Pixar Epcot day. i can't wait to meet Jessie/ Woody/ Bullseye and Crush!

Here's the lastest on the characters scheduled for the event.

Whis weekend we have a couple birthday parties and my extended family on my father's side is coming to town.

i also plan to host a find the missing shoe party. :rotfl2: When i find those suckers they are going straight into the suitcase. i'm not going to give my kids a chance to misplace them again.

I know i should't have been talking about it before i told them, but i couldn't help it. Very few of my friends are Disney fanatics; my husband was tired of hearing it. I had to talk to someone about it, even if it was under the guise of some future trip.

i'm not sure how much i'll update while i am gone. If I do, it will be a very quick note through my iphone. I'm not taking a laptop or anything.

The Pixar weekend sounds like so much fun! Have fun meeting all the characters :goodvibes

Your Easter pictures are so sweet. I love the reveal...the goody bags are awesome. Sorry you didn't get the expected reaction, but chocolate is a pretty big deal ;)

After reading about the Roseanne episode, I had to look it up...and I found it on Netflix! So, I will be watching it later today :thumbsup2

I need a clock stopper, too! A few hours kid-free and with nothing else to do but get all the trip stuff done sounds great.

Pixar day sounds like so much fun! I wish we were going to be there that then. Maybe it will become an annual event and we'll catch it next year. Or maybe, every day could be Pixar day. I bet everyone would love it.

I can't wait for pixar. Unfortunately we will only have a few hours there. It's going to be hard to prioritize!!

netflix is a great idea. I should check it out to see if there are other sitcoms with dsney episodes.

Thanks for the compliments!

I think you are on to something here! They need to expand pixar area majorly at DHS. Then they could have an annual pixar weekends similar to SWW!

I went into the Disney store yesterday. I was thinking about buying some tees for chris and I. I held off though because the selection was larger online And they were $4 more in store. I might as well order online and pay rush shipping as it is the same price altogether.
I did let each of the kids pick out a gift card. I put $70 on each- equal to $10/ full day. Chris and I will also buy each of them something special while we are there. For Maya it will probably be a pearl in Epcot. Any thoughts for James?
I know I want to buy a MM ice tray while I am there.

We were gone all day yesterday. We started off an an early morning birthday party. We came home for lunch. Then we left again for a family get together on my dads side. All our family came in from Arkansas to celebratemy dad's birthday yesterday, my aunts birthday Friday, and my uncles recovery from heart surgery. It was really nice as we only see some of these people once a year. We got home at 1130pm:scared1:

the latest with chris is that his work will still close tomorrow. He will have to work mon and tues finalizing preparations for the flood closure. He has to feed people wed and thurs. Then he will be off fri/sat/sun and work mon. Hopefully this will mean he will be available to help with regular household/school
stuff and I can concentrate on trip stuff.

The rain continues to fall. We've had more tornado warnings And watches today. 5-10" around us. The river and it's tributaries continue to rise. To get a perspective, one of the tributaries will rise from 3ft yesterday to 28ft today. Beside the main river, we have three that finger through our city. Donthey flooding is affecting homes, businesses, and roads throughout the whole city People have been told to get things ready for 3-10 days. So far there are many roads flooded and shelters have been opened- three for people and one for pets.
It's really somewhat scary because they aren't horribly clear on just how much of the city will end up getting evacuated. We aren't normally in a flood but I'm not sure if we are in the 100 or 500 year flood plain. I'm just hoping that we can stay focused on vacation packing and not have to pack the house too

Today marks the day that we can see the first day of weather on the 10 day forecast!

Our arrival day looks like sun and temps near 90!

I'm getting behind again on the subscriptions I'm following. Please forgive me and know I'm thinking of you!

And don't worry, we know you're still out there! Glad to hear that arrival day looks wonderfully sunny!

Are you going to do online check-in?

Right now i'm really leaning towards not doing online checkin. My number one priority in room preference isn't on there. I have a feeling i may have to ask to have my assigned room relocated and then i would slow down the whole line.

so far the first three days are showing around 90, with partly loudy to mostly sunny skies. Sounds good to me! Hope the forecast sticks!

We are officially 1 week away form departure. Everytime i say that i get all emotional! (No, that's just dirt, those aren't happy tears:lovestruc)

Yesterday I set up the "stop mail". I also recieved Maya's Rapunzel shirt. It is so very pretty! I can't wait to see her face when she wakes up to that surprise!

I wouldn't be myself if i didn't procrastinate, so this week i've also been working on some info for the parks. I don't do a full on binder; what I do is more or less make index cards. I slide them into the pages of a small, thin 4X6 photo album and carry that in my park bag.

Here are some of the things i carry in there:

Show schedule for all 4 parks
Character locations/ times for all 4 parks
Important phone number list
Baby center locations
magic hour offerings only for the ones we plan on attending
photopass special poses locations
note page on Kim Possible & Rafiki's
Park Bag packing list- so i can check it each morning
a couple of Robo's rope drop maps
snacks/ locations list (just a few must haves)
park hours for the week (for everything in case we make changes)
ADR's for the week

can you think of anything i've forgotten?

I've pulled some more things to pack. I have two areas of focus for tonight and tomorrow night.

1) there are a couple items that my children have not put away and i need
to take them with us (where are you hiding Mr. Unicorn Croc?)
2) wash some items that i do not dry so they have plenty of time to dry
before packing this weekend.

And here is the rest of what is left on my to-do list, in random order

3) pack
4) print sticky labels for our items (phone, address)
5) check show schedules for updates (Saturday)
6) find more to go with my parents birthday/ mother's day gifts
7) mother's day meal at my family's house
8) finalize notes for my "binder"
9) empty my Flip camera
10) make up my mind on the one double or two singles dilemma
11) bank
12) bills
13) sew a spot on my bathing suit seam
14) finalize touring plans (and hope its slow enough i wont need them!)
15) order diapers from Amazon**
16) reconfirm ME- last time i confirmed they didn't have the flight info recorded even though i gave it to them and Disney gave it to them

** i've decided to just order diapers from Amazon rather than ship a package down there. The cost/ diaper will be a tiny bit higher than i usually pay. But it will still be cheaper than shipping a package and a whole lot easier too! I just didn' t have a lot of other items i needed to ship.

Last time, we went to mk, rode about 3 rides, and then did a little shopping. If i can create a few extras hours in the day, i will do a little mini trip report of that day here on this PTR. I never finished that day on my last trip report for some reason.

I love when we can go in the park for just a few rides before we have to go home. It just feels like an extra-special treat! Of course, we only do that when we have annual passes.

We went grocery shopping today and Maya was pleasantly surprised when Count Chocula greeter us at the entrance. She walked right up and gave him a high five. James followed right up afterwards for his high five. Then Maya went to pose for a picture. Hames was funny because he got near him buy wouldn't put his arm around him or anything. He had a complete who the heck are you look on his face. Still, he was pretty brave about it, so I hope that carries over to WDW. Hopefully, I'll get some smiles from him for the characters he knows and loves!

James has also started to have a major fear of noise lately. He's been covering his ears for trains, planes, etc. I've got to add earplugs to my packing list. I know he will want them for the fireworks. Any rides I should remember to take them on?

Marshay was kind enough to share the refurb schedule on her ptr. Besides star tours, the liberty belle will also be closed.

Tp changed the park recomendations for our arrival day. Hopefully there won't be anything major for our trip days.

The girls (and boys under 5) on Chris's side visited today. Tomorrow we will have lunch at my parents with my side. What did you all do this weekend?

Glad to hear that the kids didn't seem to be scared of the character!

As for ear plugs...I don't recall rides that are very loud but I know that they have portions of the rides that can be loud. You may just want to pack them in your park bag just in case you need them.

Chris was actually off for Easter Sunday! We went to lunch at my parents house and had a small Easter egg hunt afterwards. I forgot to bring my camera, but grabbed these on my phone.

Maya, James, and my nephew Cayden

Here is what was left for them.

That's right. we decided that it was close to trip time so we might as well go ahead and tell them. We figured that she may possibly figure it out on the way there between a flight to Orlando or someone saying something. We figured that at least this way we would get it on camera.

yep, we tell our kid she is going to Disney and she is more excited about a chocolate bunny:lmao:
STRIKE 3-B

Love the Easter pictures and everything the Easter bunny brought! Rapunzel stuff is big at our house too!

I had to just laugh about the big reveal!!! We plan and plan but can never predict what our children will do.

I agree with you and others -- how can a trip in the vague future (at least for a kid, anything beyond tomorrow is vague) beat out a chocolate easter bunny right here and now!

I'm so glad you were able to change your plans so you can go to the Pixar Weekend!!

And you are right -- I can begin my 10 day weather forecast today!!:dance3:

Did you call your request in and have it noted on the reservation? If not, do that. And if its not honored (since its not guaranteed), you can request when you check-in if anything is available that you did request.

I did; i know that it isn't guaranteed, but i'm hoping the most important things can be met. Hopefully because the request is a little more broad, meaning there are more rooms that fit the description, then we will have a good chance of getting it. I'm mostly worried about the crib at this point. I requested a regular crib. My notes on the reservation say regular crib, and when i went to the online checkin page it says pack n play. its still too early for reservations to pull that info up, so i have to check on that again.
are you saying either way you suggest the online? i just read about a lot of people having hassels when they needed to make changes with online checkin.

You are right! kind of takes away from the sad vibe the day otherwise has.

I plan to; so far the main thing he really seems to be fearful of is the planes. imagine a 757 or larger driving down your road. that is what it is like in the parking lot of my work. i'm not sure what triggered this- he has been coming to my work since he was three months old.

Love the Easter pictures and everything the Easter bunny brought! Rapunzel stuff is big at our house too!

Luckily she's completely excited now. I didn't have to make a countdown calendar. she's my human one. every day she tells me how many days we have left and then screams at the top of her lungs before asking me what we will be doing on that day. James has no idea what he is in for, but he is right along side her screaming too.

I'm so glad you were able to change your plans so you can go to the Pixar Weekend!!

I tried to not care about it but i couldn't convince myself that it wasn't special. I just hope to have enough time there!

And you are right -- I can begin my 10 day weather forecast today!!:dance3:

they changed it a bit this morning. i'll discduss it below with a minor update.

We will be doing online check-in with a room request. If our request is not met when we arrive, we'll politely ask if there is availability to be moved to our request. If no availability, then we'll smile and accept what we've been given.

I think most people consider it a hassle because they had to ask - not everyone is understanding. I'm sure there have been people who were really put out with not getting their preference and then being moved over (not all CMs are friendly and love their job). But in the end, I think all in all, it shouldn't be anymore of a hassle than restating the room request when you arrive to check-in. Most complaints are from people who can't accept the fact they can't always get their way. ;) (Obviously, that's not always true, but you get what I mean.)

now it stands as
92, sunny
93, sunny
92, 40% scattered thunderstorms
91, sunny

i know it rains in Florida, but i REALLY hope we don't have too much during our trip. I am so over rain at home right now! its been changing some every day so i'm not panicking yet.

Does anyone have experience with the parks in rain or thunderstorms? i was wondering what rides or shows are likely to be stopped?

I'm assuming most everything outdoors if there is lightning?

I"m assuming test track and lights motor action for any amount of rain. is there anything else that closes for light rain?
