My sister (I kid-you-not) will not do elevators and I would like to stay at the Swan or Dolphin this summer along with her and the kids. She will ride an escalator and could walk-up one or two flight of stairs if available. Are their rooms/suites on the 2nd or 3rd floor and do they have a balcony to see the Epcot fireworks! We will probably need two rooms or a suite and can get a discount there. The Boardwalk, Beach Club, etc, is a little more than we want to pay. Would appreciate any advice or info. Thank you, Shadow

I don't know that there are any rooms on the second floor where you can see illuminations from the Dolphin. The YC is right next door and I remember there being some trees. You have to be up a little ways, and even then most of the rooms don't have what I'd call a great view. They say the Swan has better views but I still don't know about a second floor having any kind of a view. If you're that close, why not go to Epcot? I'm pretty sure you can see them really good from there.

But I understand. It took three nights of watching them from our room in the Dolphin (not a good view) before I was able to drag my wife down to Epcot to see them close up.

We stayed at the Swan and have had 3rd floor and 9th (I think) and the fireworks are MUCH better from the upper floors. From the upper level we could even see some of the fire coming up from the water. There are round windows at the end of the hallway on each floor which may provide a better view than from your room, depending on your room location. I guess you could request a lower floor, and then hike upstairs to watch.

We had a room with a balcony on on the 3rd floor in the west wing of the Dolphin. We didn't need the elevator as it was also the floor off the lobby. We only used the elevator to go to the lower level where Tubbi's and the door to the pool area is, but you could easily reach that by stairs.:D

The escalator, also, takes you from the Dolphin lobby to the lowest level that houses Tubbi's, Dolphin Fountain and the exit door to the boat dock.

We were in the 4th floor of the Dolphin, west wing and there was a very short flight of stairs off the lobby to get to the hallway to our room. It was not in a stairwell or anything, just a nice set of carpeted stairs in front of the gift shop near the elevators. We often used it instead of waiting for the elevators.
