Dolphin Resort Lobby with the huge Christmas Tree DIS Meet 12/11-16/10

Hello. Is anyone interested in a DIS meet on any days between December 11, 2010, Saturday and December 16, 2010, Thursday at the Dolphin Resort Lobby with the huge 45 foot tall Christmas Tree?

Those are the days that I will be staying at the Dolphin Resort.

Did you hear about the cool "SANTA" code rate for $122.50 per night listed in the Swan/Dolphin Resort link at the bottom of the DIS forum under special offers for the Swan/Dolphin Resort?

I thought that since the Dolphin Resort Lobby was so large and there were so many places to meet and greet and sit down that it might be nice to have a meet and greet for anyone to enjoy.

I am not sure if the very large 45 foot tall Christmas tree is still being used in the center of the lobby, but I loved the larger train rolling around the bottom of the tree skirt and all of the poinsetta flowers and just the general atmosphere of the lobby during the holidays.

If you are interested, I could post your dates and ideas on this first post.

I am pretty flexible right now and I am sure everyone's schedule may change as the time to arrive comes, but that is O.K.

It is still fun to plan a DIS meet, isn't it.

In past years, there were a few Dolphin Resort's Lobby December events that were planned, but I don't know if they will doing the same thing this year. I'll keep an eye out for any 2010 December infomation and post it here.

Twilight Magic:
Each night at 6:00pm, there's the "Twilight Magic" tree lighting ceremony in the Dolphin lobby.

Santa's Workshop:
In Santa's Workshop, children are invited to create a fun arts & crafts project. The workshop opens on select days from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the Dolphin lobby.

Photos with Santa:
Santa will be visiting the Dolphin Lobby to see all the children on vacation. Photos With Santa will take place every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday through December 23. Santa will be there from 6:00 pm 7:00 pm. Digital pictures will be available for purchase for $5.00 or you can take your own photo.

Holiday Performers:
On select nights, the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort will have local performers and choirs providing special holiday entertainment in the Dolphin Lobby. Performances begin at 6:00 pm.

Cookie Decorating:
Every Tuesday and Thursday in December, children are invited to cookie decorating from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Located by the Dolphin Lobby near the holiday tree.

Campfire on the Beach:
Join us every Saturday on the beach to warm up to our campfire and make S'mores. S'mores kits will be sold for $5.00 each and contain six S'mores. This activity begins at 6:00pm

Any one have any suggestions for any DIS meet for any other place or time?

We haven't set a particular date or time, yet.

I have just requested ideas and when everyone might be available or what might be a good time and a good place to meet and greet.

Things may change as the time gets closer and that is O.K..

But it sure is fun to plan a DIS Meet and Greet.

I'll also have my computer at WDW at Pop Century and at the Dolphin Resort to keep updated with the thread.

I know that sometimes I try to get online late at night after getting back from the parks and other times I may just be too tired to get online until an off day in the morning or a rainy day.

So I volunteer to be your online reporter and photographer although I am not very good at either of these jobs, I'll do my best.

I'll be at Pop Century Resort from November 29th to December 10th.

Then I'll be at the Dolphin Resort from December 11th to December 16th.

I can't wait to be at the Dolphin Resort. I am so excited. I just had to treat myself.

I am also planning on attending many of the AllEars.Net Meet and Greets, too.

Chestnuts and Teasers Stop by the causeway on select nights between 6:00pm and 8:00pm to enjoy chestnuts that have been carefully roasted on an open fire by our very own chefs! Also enjoy some refreshing holiday beverages compliments of our restaurants.

Pastry Decorating Create your own masterpiece as our cast members help you decorate cookies, brownies or cupcakes on alternating nights in the hotel lobbies.

Holiday Entertainment On select nights between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, you’ll enjoy beautiful musical performances by carolers, choirs and musicians in the hotel lobbies or on the causeway and other public areas throughout the resort.

Holiday Hideout Children are invited to join us between 2:00pm and 5:30pm for fun arts and crafts, Rockband Showdown, Wii Sports match, Bingo, coloring pages build a plush ($12), board games and more! The beautiful tree was still there in the Lobby last year. This is our first Dolphin stay but we took a walk over there for a meal.

I am glad that the Christmas tree is still there.

I think that your idea of meeting 30 minutes before the Christmas Tree Lighting sounds good to me.

I am still undecided on what I will be doing each day while at the Dolphin since I just made my reservation, but for now I am going to put your dates and times in my calendar.

Let's hope that there may be others that might want to join us, too.

Hi, WUVmyDisney. I am so excited, too. I always go to WDW in December because of all of the holiday lights, music, activities.

I tried to just take one weekend off work this year, but I gave in and at the last minute decided to take an extra weekend off work.
