Thinking of the Dolphin during their Swan/Dolphin food/wine event. Question. Will the pool (s) be off limits on that Friday and Saturday? Does anyone have any direct experience with staying there during this festival (November).

I have in the past - from what I recall the Swan pool was in the thick of everything (though I was not trying to visit). Dolphin was fine…but this was pre-Covid so maybe the layout has changed.

I have no idea about the pool, but I just checked the price for both the Dolphins nd the Swan for a two night stay in October. I was expecting the price to be $350ish per night. Add a 1. $1,305 for ONE night. In a standard room!

I cannot imagine they are combining their F&W event with the large, expansive Dolphin pool. There is simply too much alcohol for that to be a good idea…

My concern would be noise. I was at SR last Spring with a large conference that had a wrap up beach party and I could hear the karaoke from my high floor (NONE of them should have been singing 🤣 ).

As Dave said that probably means sold out. October is a busy month at Swolphin as it’s a popular spot for the big Gartner IT conference that happens every year around that time.

@happily single as @kylenne indicated the Gartner Conference is scheduled for Oct. 21 - 24 this year and it impacts all the resorts around Crescent Lake. The Gartner Group also has another Conference Reimange HR Oct. 28 - 30 at the Swan & Dolphin resort.

I was looking at October 13-14 and it was $1,305+ a night,so not the conference , but probably F&W pricing

Definitely not. F&W doesn’t draw those sorts of crowds to Swolphin. These rates only happens when conventions hit and the amount of conventions Swolphin hosts is mind boggling. Maybe 5% are talked about on these boards. There is no place you can just go see a list of these private events.

Also, in order for it to be F&W demand people would have to buy rooms all the way up from $300 to $1300 as the system gradually increased the prices. Ain’t gonna happen. Nobody is paying$1k/nt for Swolphin. Therefore the inventory was chunked out resulting in the high price for possibly remaining inventory (recall, sometimes the inventory isn’t even bookable).

Completely agree. And OP - keep checking. There have been MANY times when I saw a similar rate posted and because I stalked the site, ended up getting it for $250 (including tax/resort fee). We’ve overlapped with Gartner. conference so often I feel like I work there 🤣
