Please tell me my 5 children and Mom and Dad will enjoy Dollywood? I have never been and it looks fun and hope I made the correct choice?

You will have fun!! We just went last summer but were apprehensive too...after so many trips to Disney I wasn't sure how I would feel about Dollywood. My kids (ages 4,7,8 and 10 at the time) all had a blast and ask to go back. We're definitely planning another trip back to TN in the next few years and Dollywood will be on our list again!

Have a great time!

I think you'll enjoy it. It's no Disney of course, but it is a nice southern park. We've had season passes the past 6+ years, and we still look forward to going each year!

We went last summer and had a lot of fun. It was DH, MIL, FIL, DD4 and DSalmost2. We actually could have easily spent 2 days there, but we were going at the kids pace. you'll enjoy it!

My sister took by boys (ages 13 and 9) to Dollywood last May. While, it isn't Disney, they had a great time. I have heard from several people that Dollywood is very clean, and all the workers are happy and helpful. My boys are ride fanatics, and enjoyed the rides Dollywood had to offer. We will probably go up for a quick weekend trip this summer. FYI, they stayed at the Christmas hotel and loved it. They had originally booked at the Wilderness at the Smokies waterpark hotel, but moved after one night because it was so lame. They said there were hardly any waterslides - but they are used to the Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge.

As long as you enjoy it as Dollywood and not compair it to WDW you will like it. It's fun for all ages!!!

Pigeon Forge is one of my kids favorite vacation destinations. Dollywood is a very nice park. It has more of the regular amusement park rides, ie Ferris Wheel, Tilt-a-Whirl, bumper cars, than Disney of course, but it has a beautiful decor. Your parents will enjoy the shows and craftsmen. Get there early, just like you would for Disney. Make sure and catch some of the dinner shows in PF. My kids loved the Hoot-n-Holler at Wonderworks, Dixie Stampede, and Magic Show. I also highly recommend staying in a cabin if it's in the budget. My kids LOVE the cabins!

Growing up we went to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge a lot. We always went to Dollywood. I thought it was fun as a kid (not very many thrill rides though) but I LOVE it as an adult. My bf and I are going in September and I can't wait to go here. The park is beautiful, the Dolly museum is really fascinating, and the shows are a lot of fun. As long as you don't compare it to WDW, like PP's said, you will have a great time.

We were there for the first time in January, and even though most of the rides were closed because of the extreme cold, we still managed to have a great time. The park is spotlessly clean, and the scenery is beautiful. Like others have mentioned, it's not the same as Disney, but if you go in without the same expectations, I think you will enjoy it. Definitely a huge step above Six Flags, etc. We look forward to going back someday in the warmer weather!

We live about 1.5 hours from Dollywood. We love to stay at the Inn at Christmas Place(AAA disc.).But there are cheaper hotels aplenty. My oldest daughter thinks Dollywood is sort of lame,as she is a Disney/Universal kid..lol...But it is good clean family fun.If you go more than once and want to get passes, one member of the family can get a Gold pass that gives free parking and merchandise/food discounts. They have some good places to eat, craftsman shops(not just tshirts and stuffed animals),and its clean and beautifully landscaped.Really good shows too. Also have a waterpark,Splash Country.Pigeon Forge also has a MagiQuest, that my kids love.Gatlinburg has Ripleys attractions/aquarium.

Your family will love it. We had the same apprehension last year, but once the kids got there, Disney wasn't mentioned at all. Great place with friendly employees and BEAUTIFUL scenery.

We love Dollywood and the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area as well. We only live a couple of hours away and visit a lot. We bought season passes to Dollywood/Splash Country for the first time this year, so we are really excited to put them to use. I second the above poster about MagiQuest. My DS8 had a blast there!

Well, we will be taking our 3rd trip down in 3 weeks. Don't compare it to Disney??? For sure!!! Disney is all commercial, with so much unnecessary hype and such out of control prices. Dollywood is our favorite place!!! We've been to Disney, DD never wanted to go back. She wants to move to TN. The friendliest, most gracious people we've ever met. The park is immaculate, the workers soooo helpful. There is so much to do! The shows are amazing! The prices are extremely reasonable. The whole town of PF is filled with the nicest folks we have dealt with on any vacation! Your kids are going to absolutely love it! If its in your budget try to do the Dixie Stampede, we do that show every time we go. If your kids are younger Blackbear Jamboree, and Comedy Barn are great shows for younger kids. Also Wonderwerks in PF and the Ripleys Aquarium in Gatlingburg are fun as well. And there are tons of minature golf spots and go-carts places. You are going to have soo much fun. Enjoy!
