Dollar Rental Car at Aulani

Has anyone ever rented with Dollar Rental Car at Honolulu Airport? I got a great rate on a minivan but I am a bit concerned with some of their reviews. I did notice that the car rental reviews for all the major players in Honolulu were not great. Many complained about cleanliness and cars breaking down.So the question is "Do I roll the dice with my great rate or pay double with another carrier that may be not so great either"? any guidance would be great!

We have always rented from Alamo at the Honolulu airport and have never had a problem. Cars have always been clean and running good. We usually get the best rate on a rental through Costco, or discounthawaiicarrental.com.

I have not rented from Dollar, but have rented twice from Alamo booked through Costco. We have been happy with our rentals through them.

I have rented from many companies on various islands. service is often slow, cars are limited. lines are long. I would look into dollar express if you have time so that you can skip the counter.

no problem, it's unfortunate that national doesn't seem to have emerald aisle on Oahu, otherwise I'd recommend that. it's free and our go to on Kauai, where we waited in line at least 30 minutes every time otherwise, regardless of status.

We made an early reservation through JN Rentals, which had great reviews compared to the bigger rental agencies. As we got closer to the travel dates, we saw that Costco had some cheaper deals running. We asked JN Rentals if they could beat the other prices, and they did after we forwarded quotes from the others. The JN Rentals vehicle wasn't brand new, but still fine condition and very clean. There were no long lines, and when we returned the vehicle, they even drove us back in the same vehicle so that we didn't need to move ourselves or belongings to another vehicle. Great experience overall.
