dollar rate just keeps getting worse!!!!

i been keeping a eye on the dollar my self since september 09 on the thomas cook bureau de change online the highest its been was 17 nov $1.6357 to the pound.

hopefully it should go up again.
from what it was yesterday it is about $65 difference on £500 that is a lot of breakfast, lunch and suppers.

We go to NY in a month and I ordered some of my currency with Crown in December, we got 1.74, wish I ordered more of it now

That depends on the outcome of the election. If there is a hung parliament that in general will be bad for the pound, as it will be percieved as indecisive. If there is a clear winner, that could be better, depending on what policies the new government have.
I'll stay on the political fence for this discussion
There's lots more going on too apart from the election of course: what happens to government debt, will the UK keep its AAA rating, how strong will the economic recovery be, does the euro hold together or will countries be forced to leave?
I started writing that the pound's up a bit today as it was over 1.57, but I just checked and it's dribbling lower again
