i think i got a decent price on an August minivan rental from Dollar. Base rate for 10 days is $315.99. Total price with all taxes is $396.63.

What do you guys think? Did I do okay?

I was on the Dollar site checking rates when I got sort of a pop up (but not quite) that said click here for special rate. I clicked and got a lower rate. I can't find anything cheaper yet so I'll hold onto it. Its a bit early since the coupon codes haven't come out for August yet.

I didn't try the Amex promo - not a cardmember.

Didn't work for me. I ended up with a city special or something like that. $217/35. I am always looking for a better rate however.

I am going 11 days in June/July. I have a minivan for $356. But now that I keep checking, the cheapest I can find is $450. So, the $396 is pretty good. Maybe there will be some specials the closer our trip gets. Here is hoping!

I got an intermediate rental (like a Chrysler Sebring) for my dates of 6/1 to 6/9 with Dollar for a base rate of $131.98 and $176. with estimated charges and taxes. The price would of been $337. without the promo code discount. I am also renting the same kind of car for our dates in 12/9 to 12/15 for the same price as in June.
