Dollar Car Rental at MCO, Good or Bad?

We are newbies at renting a car at MCO (we always use the towncars or Mears) but since we are dividing our stay between the Courtyard By Marriot at Downtown Disney and the Contemporary we thought it would be the most convenient thing to do. Please share your good and bad experiences with Dollar. Thanks!

We've rented from Dollar at least 8 times and have never had a problem. Usually hassle-free check-in and have never had a problem at turn in. It's even easier if you use Fastlane (which I think is still free to join).

we usually rented with Budget, but because of the great deal we got for the Minivan we went with Dollar and it was great. I signed up for the fast lane service but didn't need it there was no line, at return you just follow the signs a person in there to check mileage and the look over the car then your set. took about 5 minutes and there were about 5 cars being returned when we got there. just make sure to take the elevators down we thought the lady said go up then cross over and then go down. ended up using the stairs the wait was terrible for the elevators.

I have rented cars at Avis, Nat'l, and Dollar and have never had a problem with any of these companies. However, I find that Dollar consistently has the lowest prices. Be sure to sign up for Fastlane (free to join) and by-pass the lines at the check-in counter.

I have used Dollar at MCO, Tampa and Phoenix, AZ., and never had a problem. I've always gotten a very good deal using them and recommend them. I even had a problem with a bad tire last trip, and it was taken care of and I was compensated one day's rental for my inconvenience.

We have rented from them several times and have never been disappointed. The one time we had a problem (had to wait 1/2 an hour for a convertible to be delivered from the other side of the airport) they took care of us by adding an additional 15% discount!

Just returned on Saturday and had a two week rental. We waited about 15 minutes to get the car and the return took about 5 minutes. They were very friendly and no hard sell for extra insurance. Only thing the clerk said was that they would come after me if anything happened to the car not my insurance company. Whatever!! I would highly recommend them. We had a compact for 249 w/tax for two weeks. No other company even came close.

Only 2 problems.

-Could not get cut rate though a holiday. So made 2 rentals. 1st car at MCO, then they had me go to the International Drive Dollar and exchange cars. Exchanged economy car for minivan. Minivan was filthy. Still saved $300 this way.

-Twice had to go to the main desk when returning the car. This was because they 'hold' your credic card a certain amount of money. If THEY under 'hold' you have to authorize it back at the main desk. This is very bad if you family is waiting for you.

Otherwise they are perfect.

I've used Dollar three times for a minivan, they had the best rate, no problem with any rental. I also recommend you sign up for Fastlane, and remember to take your card, they want to see it when you use the Fastlane isle at the reservation counter.

We were very impressed with Dollar Rent A Car last month when we rented from them. Had no wait at all to pick up our car, this was before the attack when folks were still traveling. Pick up of the car was simple, show them your drivers license, sign the paper and give them your credit card and go..no hassle. We will be using them again when we return to Orlando..they treated us EXTREMELY DECENTLY during the attack week, and we ended up driving our rental car home as our flight was cancelled. High marks from me for Dollar Rent A Car!!!!
