doll questions

Does anyone have both the My Twinn doll and an American Girl doll? Is there any difference in quality?

I am trying to decided which one to get....I thought I had decided but as I got ready to order I guess I got cold feet

Personally, I'd go with the AG doll.

My sister did the MT for her DD and it is a nice doll -- didn't look as much like niece as I expected it too though.

I think AG has some super nice things for their dolls and the their customer service is reliable and very good.

DD has one of MT's "cuddley sisters". She is very cute but I'm sold on AG.

American Girl dolls have so many accessories that once you start, you have birthday and Christmas presents figured out for a long, long time.

My daughter, now 18, has a lot of AG stuff. We have it all packed away because it is in such excellent condition and is all worth passing down to her children.

Relatives really liked being able to pick things out of the huge catalog to get her. Even though we live in Canada, the AG dolls are very popular up here and provide excellent service.

I think last year the MT company was having serious issues with doll deliveries, eventhough orders were placed within the guidelines for delivery before Christmas. I think it had to do with they closed down their US production facilities, and moved it outside the country. I don't know if that is still the case - but I would check it out thoroughly before I would order from them.

I want to order one of the "Twin" dolls, well actually two of them but I remember there were issues of dolls not getting delivered so I have held off.

My dd has both. We had no problems with My Twinn. My dd likes having the matching outfits for her and the doll, but of course AG has those too. The biggest problem we have with MT is they are 22" dolls and AG (and most others) are 18" dolls and it's almost impossible to buy clothes for the MT dolls (except what you order from MT - of course ) We have had luck finding nice doll clothes at outlets in Pigeon Forge, but only for the AG dolls. We do like the historical connections of the AG dolls. My dd loves reading the books and doing some of the related crafts and such. My Twinn is just a fun doll - and it's cool that it looks like her, but it's also scary. Sometimes when I see that doll lying on the couch, for half a second I think it's my dd lying there unconscious! I experience a nanosecond of total fear, then I realize it's the doll
