As a Disney addict, a DIS Resort Board addict, and a map addict, I've figured out a project to undertake that will satisfy all 3 addictions:woohoo: ---develop and post online a complete set of room layout maps for every Disney resort. I'd really love your help.

Based on my own pre-resort excitement and MANY posts I've read on this Board over the last few years, I know there would be great interest in a central web site where you could go to look at complete maps showing all the room numbers and layout of a to-be-visited resort. Although there are plenty of great sources of Disney-created and other resort maps (e.g, on the DIS, on the WillCAD site), very few maps are out there which show the exact locations of each room number. To my knowledge, the following are the only maps of this kind that are already available:

-Pop Century and the All-Star Resorts. I have the links if you would like them.
-Yacht and Beach Club. Ditto.
-Polynesian. This is available on Tikiman's Unofficial Site.
-Wilderness Lodge. This map is one I put together. I did it with the help of my TA (and a CM she knew). It gives you an idea of what the other maps might be like...not fancy or colorful but very useful if you want to make a room request. The WL map is on my own site, and that's where I plan to add all the other maps as I develop them:

The first "new" maps I'm going to do are for the Swan (and Dolphin) , since I'm currently planning for our stay there in August. I'm just starting to catalog room numbers at the Swan from various threads on this Board. Before we go, I want to have enough of an idea of the room layout so that while I'm there I can do a walk-through:goodvibes and complete the process.

So, if you are a "Swan expert" (Dan Murphy, are you out there?:thumbsup2 ) or just have stayed at the Swan or Dolphin, please help me by providing room numbers and specific locations within the hotel. A pic of the view from your room (like those posted in the Room View Thread) would also be great for pinning down the exact location, and if I get enough pics I may be able to provide some links to them on the web site.

You can either reply to this thread, PM me, or e-mail me if you want to send a pic. Thanks in advance and wish me luck:scared1: .

I love doing things like this too! Unfortunately, the only info I could give you is from POR, where we stayed at a few years ago. I'll be at ASMu in a couple of weeks, but it looks like you already have that info. Anyway, good luck :thumbsup2

Thanks for taking on this project! :thumbsup2

You can be sure that this DIS-a-holic will love to have this resource for future trip planning! :goodvibes

I am one that feels that the WDW Trip Planning is at least half the fun!pixiedust:

I also wanted to let you know that Tikiman's website has the room number maps for all the longhouses at the POLY, and they were extremely helpful when planning our trip there.:)

Thanks again and have lots of fun with your project!

Boy, do I agree with you about the planning being half the fun...you can enjoy the planning for months, but the vacation is over in a few days:mad:

Thanks for the reminder about the Poly numbers...I knew that, but forgot when I posted yesterday. Tikiman may be persona non grata on the DIS, but I love his site.

link to the All star sports - please!

I've been wishing I could find this exact thing somewhere - hotel maps by room #. The one at Tikiman's site was so helpful when we went in April and would love to find one for CBR for our trip in August.

Thanks for taking on such a big project. I for one will certainly appreciate it!!

Awesome idea! I really need to start writing down what room #s we stay in.

could i please get the link to the yacht club as we are going at the end of month. thanks a ton!
