DOH! Took shower and went swimming with cell phone.

I mowed the yard and then edged the driveways and street grass, no curbs. It was low 90's so a little warm and sweaty. After finishing, I showered off and walked into pool. After a couple of minutes I realized I didn't take my cell phone off. Now you must understand that the phone was submerged about 4 feet under before the brick hit my head and I got out.

No hairdryer in this household, so I removed the battery, shook out what water I could and just let it sit on its side. Brought it in at night, put it under a light, put the battery back in this AM, plugged it in to charge up the battery and IT WORKS!!!

DANG, I missed 3 calls and 2 text messages. Well, I hope they understand when I get back to them later today.

LOL, wow! so glad it still works! you might try sealing it up in a ziploc bag of rice (soaks up the moisture) for about 24 hours if it gives you any trouble.

glad it works. I would still suggest putting it in a bag of uncooked rice. It will draw out the remaining moisture.

But I have to ask.... what was the phone clipped to, that was with you in the shower and in the pool?

I'm guessing it was an outside shower and that he merely stripped off his shirt and left his shorts on.

White rice or Organic Whole Grain? Thanks, going into a bag right now.

Outside pool shower for rinsing off grass clippings, dirt, etc. and then I just walked into pool with shirt still on and phone clipped to my shorts. Still find it remarkable that the LG phone is working.

use a box of regular white rice. put it in a ziploc bag, drop in the phone and seal it up. leave it for a day or so. i've read on here dozens of times that it works. thankfully, i have no first-hand experience...yet.

That's so not fair. Three months ago my cell phone went for a wash in the washing machine and completely died. I had to buy a new one.
