Dog friendly hotels and deep cleaning

Planning to rent points at the Boardwalk for next May but for some reason if that doesn't work out I'm trying to come up with a back up plan.

Originally, POR was my first choice for moderates but then I realized they went dog friendly. My middle DD6 is allergic to dogs and I don't want her miserable the whole trip if we choose to stay there (sneezing, coughing, hives if contact).

I guess my question is, how good is the deep cleaning and would you trust it? Anyone with dog allergies have any experiences with this? And if you wouldn't chance it, where would you stay instead for a family of 5?

If you mention there's an allergy, I'm sure the resort will make sure your in a room that didn't contain dogs (someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there are specific rooms/areas of the resorts where the dogs are permitted inside and its not all rooms throughout the resort).

If she is that allergic, you should be requesting the deep clean every time you stay somewhere as service dogs can stay in any room. Even at a "non-dog-friendly" resort.

We actually just found out about her allergy but yes, I am aware that service dogs can stay anywhere. My question was if the deep cleaning actually gets rid of the dog dander and if someone with allergies should trust that cleaning.

I have terrible dog allergies. I called WDW before our most recent stay at POR and they assured me that my room would be given a deep clean. Now, I don't know if there was a dog in my room before I stayed there, but I had no issues. I've honestly never had problems at WDW with my allergies. If anything, I've always been more comfortable and able to breath down there than at home.

Not sure about the deep clean, but I just returned from a week at POR and never saw a single dog our entire trip. Otherwise, the other mod that has rooms for 5 is CBR. They currently have major construction going on but it's possible a lot of it will be completed depending on when you are planning to travel.
