Dog friendly area in Outer Banks

We are looking to rent a house for a week this summer in the outerbanks. We will have our dog with us. I have read that Duck is a dog friendly beach. Are there any others? Can anyone recommend a site to find a rental?

If you do a search for Outer Banks Vacation Guide, it should have the info you need. You can either read it online or request a copy mailed to you.

We stay in south Nags Head around milepost 20, and that beach allows dogs. We rent from Resort Realty, but there are several other rental companies as well.

FYI, there are a lot of feral or at least "outside" cats in the Outer Banks.

We stay on Hatteras Island and rent through Outer Beaches. I've actually never been as far north as Duck, but I know people who like it. On Hatteras there is not a "doggie beach" per se, but there are plenty of people who bring their dogs. When you look at the houses to rent, there is a symbol if dogs are allowed.

We always stay in Corolla. We usually rent from Corolla Classic Vacations.

We rent on Hatteras. What is 'dog friendly?' The area we used to rent had all kinds of dogs there with their owners. It was in Frisco, called Brigands Bay, on the sound side. There is a house with Hatteras Realty called Blue Crush that's dog friendly, a great price and right on the sound with a nice dock, great kitchen, three bedrooms-2.5 baths, a hot tub and a really sweet deck. My fav thing is to take a pot of hot tea to the hot tub on the deck in the morning and have a soak while the herons and pelicans fish for their breakfast. The upstairs master has a roman soaking tub and a walkin mosaic tiled shower. I really love this charming house. It's obvious that the owners do too.
