We always seem to go on vacation in May around the hockey playoffs and we HAVE to go to the ESPN club to see the Penquins play. I don't think he gets obnoxious or anything but he tends to lead the restaurant in cheers (and jeers from those from the opposing side) Everyone seems to just play along but he is diffinately the loudest. It's a blast, but I worry about what others think. Does anyone out there go through the same?

Umm, darling, you always told me you like the way I watch hockey, you told me that it was one of the things that made you fall so madly in love with.

We'll have to discuss this later.

For us, it's more we find a good soccer match and are the only ones cheering when the place is quiet.

I think my husband thinks the same about me when I watch the Buccaneers or FSU!

He also says this is why he married me..:)

Typically it's a husbands job to embarrass the wives now and then. How many times have I said this "Your not wearing THAT are you?!"
I get my revenge today though. DH will be in the dunking tank at his company's picnic. It's a dollar a ball and I have been saving up!:smooth:

Isn't the reason to go to a sports bar to cheer for your team?

Yes, but my DH is er, exhuberant. He is always the loudest in the joint. Actually, of all the times we have been there, only once did someone say something rude to us at the end. And it may have been because his team lost. Anyway, we are going in May again and going with friends that are huge Penquins fans and we are going to bring down the house. Can't wait! They better make the playoffs this year! Oh well, in the meantime.....GO STEELERS!!!!

Its the opposite in our house. I'm usually the loud obnoxious one and DH is the one telling me to quiet down. My mom and I have Steeler season tickets and he stays home to watch our DS. We will be in WDW for the Monday night game the Steelers are playing Oct. 21st. We are planning to take our son to the Neverland Club and go to the ESPN club to watch the game. I can't wait but I'm sure he can. LOL

I have a blast there right along with my DH. If I could see the Pens in the playoffs there I'd be as loud as your DH. My DH was there to see the Yankees play last Oct. He had a blast, too.

I'm a huge football fan - GO Niners! so I understand hangin with your buds and getting rowdy.

If it isn't your thing, there is no law that says you have to stay. Why don't you go shopping or have a quiet lunch and come back for him later.

This way you won't be around to feel uncomfortable. Have a nice relaxing afternoon doing your thing, let him do his and have a fab dinner later. It will make for better harmony if you aren't all stressed out because you are uncomfortable with his enthusiasm. As long as he is breaking no laws, let him have his fun.

I am a big sports fan. I have season tix to the Colts. We will be at the World in Oct. and I will be missing the home game against the Ravens. The thought didn't even cross my mind to leave the parks to go watch the game. Maybe if I was going to be down there for a couple of weeks I would do it. But I am going to Disney to spend time in the parks with my family. I can watch the games at home!

And by the way, The Edge is back and the Colts are going to win the AFC South and beat Pittsburgh for the AFC title.
I am interested in the Steelers this year and the performance of Antwan Randall-El, the IU standout. HE wwill provide lots of excitement for you Steeler fans!

Mitch, they show soccer at ESPN Club? Did you have to request it special? European or MLS?

Our last trip was during football season.
My friend's DH is an Eagles fan and my DH is a Giants fan......

The two teams were playing each other while we were in Orlando.
Orlando tv did not televise this game, so guess where we got to go
....to the ESPN club.......for THREE HOURS!
(The guys wouldn't leave until the game was over.)

We arrived and were seated as the game began. (It's a blessing to our husbands that we both like football.) We all took our time eating dinner, played some trivia games with the announcers in the restaurant, had dessert, and did some shopping down the boardwalk....

The guys had a GREAT time, EVERYONE in the restaurant was into the game, and I am VERY greatful that the ESPN club is on the boardwalk or else DH would have had one very unhappy DW.

FYI to all you sports-widows out there, the Boardwalk is a wonderful place to spend your time and the DH's money!
So let them root for their teams, we'll be outside spending all their money...=;-)

We've seen the US National Teams, both Mens and Womens. We get a booth and since the games are on ESPN/ESPN2/ABC they have the feed. I've seen little placards showing the Champions League games since they are on ESPN2 also. Ask, it never hurts.
