Did you notice any difference in the food, or service using the dining plan? My husband was kidding me saying we will get indifferent service and tiny portions because our food is free

Did anyone notice any difference being the tip is included and they know you were only paying a set fee to eat $200 worth of food :teeth:

Thanks!

I have not used the new dining plan, but when we used the old gold plan in the past (3-meals a day) we always had GREAT service. They suggest great items, and always bring everything you need. They were great, they want you to be HAPPY since, if you order more, they get a bigger percentage -- not that they wouldn't be happy otherwise, but hey, if you get the steak dinner, and not just a burger, its better for everyone right??? --- anyway to answer your question I don't think the treatment is anydifferent that if you were paying cash. And if you think the server was great, you can still add cash to the tip that is already included.

I haven't heard this happening yet. My biggest fear is that Disney really seems to be pushing this prepaid food plan/all inclusive resort idea. I cruise on occasion, and some of the ships mottos seem to be 'We don't have great food, but we have a lot of it!'. I am more concerned about the quality of the food slipping at some of their better restaurants than the quality of the help.

My dh said the same thing. Although, he doesn't care...it's free. :rotfl:

My son and I used the plan during our trip in April. Our waitress at Sci Fi got a little PO because I told her we weren't ordering dessert.

After she left my son decided he wanted to try the cheesecake (he ate about two bites). She tried to get me to order another dessert but I was stuffed. She then offered us drinks to take out with us. (We both had milkshakes with out lunch) When she came out with the cups my mouth dropped. I've never seen cups that large at WDW. They looked like 7-11 Big Gulp cups. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Many of the CMs want you to max out the plan so that can get a large tip. I'm not going to order food I know we won't eat just because it's included.

Other than that all of the CMs we dealt with were great. We didn't order dessert at WCC and only ordered one ice cream at Teppenyaki. Both CM were fine with that.

I booked the free dining plan for our October trip.

I hope I don't piss off any CM during that trip.earboy2: If I didn't try to max out the plan when I was paying for it, I sure won't try to do it since it's free.

Most of the cm's in the restaraunts were great. We did let them know as soon as we were seated that we were on the dining plan.
Our waiter at San Angel Inn was horrible. He was basically non-existent.
At Sci-Fi our waitress was kind of so-so. She had a great personality and gave us lots of suggestions, but it was hard to get her when we needed something.
All the rest that we encountered were awesome! It's hard to say if it was because of the plan or not as this was our first trip to WDW.

Absolutely no difference. If anything they try very hard to run up your bill, because they make 15% of your order, not a standard tip. They also would like you to tip above and beyond. The servers we had at the buffets were great for the same reason. We were treated very well regardless of TS or CS, and in both ABC Commissary and FTB (CS restaurants) cast members carried one of our trays to a table for us and refused a gratuity. At Pop, a table cleaner refilled everyone in our sections drinks for them and refused anything as well.
