My dd broke her leg in two places on Friday. She has to have surgery and to put in screws this week. Of course all this happened at "Fun Day" at school - pretty ironic huh?

Anyway she will be in a regular cast for at least six weeks and one of those "air casts" for a few weeks after that. We leave for Disney in seven weeks! The doctor already told us that even after she gets out of the cast he doesn't want her walking long distances or standing on it or awhile. He wants her to gradually get used to putting weight on in because the break (and the pins) are on a growth plate.

Anyway the gist of this is that we had two days planned at her favorite place - Blizzard Beach. Dr. already said that although she will be able to go in the water when the regular cast is off no slides, nothing too rough.

I was thinking of taking one of those days and surprising her with a day trip to US. We haven't been in a few years. Does US offer the guest assistance cards like Disney so she wouldn't have to wait in the long lines?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Yes...just go to Guest Services at either park and they will take care of you.

All the rides can accomodate wheelchairs, so if she's in one she can go thru the normal lines no problem. If she's on crutches, then she can sit in the child swap room while the other people in the party go through the normal line, and when they reach the end, they let the employee know she's in the child swap room and then will get her and you can ride together. Pretty nice since the child swap rooms are usually cool, quiet and comfortable!

There is a new attraction assistance pass. You go to the ride attendant.. The attendant will give you a time to return that is actual wait time minus 15 minutes... So you are waiting your turn but you could sit down, eat, shop, play or go on other rides that have 0 wait time until it is your turn to ride.

Yes, be sure to see the regular line in ET at least once. I think the trees and feeling in there is almost better than the ride. ;)
