Does this startle you?

Every now and then, I see adult posters on the TB. In some cases, they are asking a question. In other cases, they are just commenting on a thread. You can tell because of the 'mom' or 'wife' parts of the username for example. Whenever I see this, I think to myself, "WHAT are you doing here?"
It kind of startles me to see adult posters randomly commenting on our threads. Nothing wrong with it, but it's one of those things that makes you go
"hmmm."

i dunno, its different. cuz u expect to be talking with other teens when its actaully with teens and adults. it gets a little irrating sometimes when they continusly post on a thread that teens really know the answer to and i know they are just trying to help but, i dunno. its different.

I am laughing as I read this. I am one of those people who may have done that. What I do is go up to the "new posts" and click on it. Then I scroll through the day for something interesting. I try to look what board it is from but sometimes I forget. If I have I am sorry. I am 29 so not your mothers age but I understand having your own board is special and I don't mean to intrude. I will watch more closely to which board I am posting on from now on.

Actually I like when anyone no matter the age is on the CB. I just feel that certain boards were set up for certain people. I am not a teen so I don't go there, I am not in college so I don't go there, I am not gay so I don't go there. But I love that we are ALL Disney fans and some teens have way more experience and know way more then I do about Disney. So I love this disboards.

I go to the CB sometimes. It seems to be the "hot spot" for tags. I never noticed that adults we're posting on the TD.

We're in the trip planning section of the site for a reason. Its so adults can as our opinions on things.

There are 100K posters to this site. Its not like its private. An adult posting here isn't doing anyone any harm. Its not like they're snooping around.

I don't mind if they post with us too. God. Its a public message board. I can post in the UK board if I want to, and I have. I live in middle tennessee.

Sometimes they have really interesting perspectives to some of the debates. Or sometimes they're so and so's mother. They can post here. Just like we can post everywhere else.

i agree with shelby. if we sit here and really complain about such a trivial thing such as "zomg!!!11 an ADULT! le gasp!!!11" we're acting just as immature as some of those adults on the CB who can't stand someone under the age of 26.

trip planning forums, babe. its right on the top of your screen. just as she screen shot it. we're in the trip planning forums because when people are planning trips, they sometimes have kids who want to meet other kids that just might be there at the same time they are. which is a basic reason why we are in the trip planning forums. that better?

One of the moderators here is The DIS Moderator Team. They check on stuff like this to make sure that everything is running smooth. I don't mind that adults post here, sometimes they ask if their teenage son/daughter would like to do XXXX at WDW/DLR. It makes me feel important.

Personally, I like reading comments from all ages. No, the fact that adults read the board doesn't startle me...the fact that some teens are startled by that fact...startles me.
