I don't think I've ever started a thread on the cb, but I now have a question and figured this would be the best place to receive an answer.
My dh's group had to let one of their partners go. This partner asked dh to write him a reference letter. Dh doesn't really want to because he is by far the worst partner they have ever had! Now, this is what doesn't seem right. He brought in "sample" letters that he has given people and vice versa to show what type of letter he expected. He then went on to say that he wanted it mailed to an employer, but also wants a copy emailed to him so he can store it on his hard drive. Is this normal? I thought those letters went directly to the employer and that's it. Our concern is that he would alter the letter in the future and we wouldn't know it. Maybe it's common now to have those letters on hard drive, I don't know.
I would love to hear what everyone else thinks. Maybe my view is tainted because I know him personally.
