Does this bother anyone else?

I buy a lot of my clothes at American Eagle, Hollister, and Abercrombie because I WANT TO. Not because a lot of people wear it. I like the clothes so I will buy them.

It bothers me that people think we only shop there because everyone does. And this is kinda OT but some people are like "EWW preppy stores, they only play pop music." Okay well first those stores aren't even "preppy". If you want preppy go to Polo, Lilly, Brooks Brothers, Lacoste, LL Bean, Ralph Lauren. etc. Second they do play pop music, but they also play rock, techno, hip-hop, etc.

Rant over. [:

I'm not saying "eww preppy stores, or people only shop there because everyone else does. That's not what I'm trying to say, I'm just simply stating that I don't like it when people say that they ONLY wear clothes from those stores. I like those stores and all, but I also like Target, and sometimes Kohls too, but only for tops, because jeans don't fit me right for some reason. And also no one is ranting over this, we are all just simply sharing our opinions. Everyone can have their own opinion, and nobody has to agree with what I'm saying. I didn't mean to make a big controversy on this.

i totally agree with you ^

yes. i admit. i shop at those places. but the ONLY thing i get r on sale. aothing more than 20$ will i ever spend on clothes. yes. i do shop at the thrift store, you can find some great things there!

lol I have a hard time spending over $15 for something. haha I recently bought a pair of really cute AERO shorts for $19.75 and it killed me. I'm very picky with clothes because of style, brand, and price.

I wish i could only wear those clothes...

American Eagle jeans seem to fit my curves much better then target ones but i can't really afford them. $50 for jeans and $25 for shirts is a bit crazy. I bought my one pair of AE jeans on sale from $55 down to $15 was was fricken amazinggg!!!

They are amazing pants

I usually don't shop at all. I mean I wear clothes from AE and Quiksilver but not everyday. I wear stuff that I am comfortable wearing like school spirit shirts, like basketball and wrestling, and I also wear shirts that I get from events, like Little League World Series.

i also shop at other places, but i think u kinda made a big deal about it sorry

I think it's just part of being a certain age. You feel like you have to wear brand names and stuff and eventually you grow up and you can't afford them anymore because you have car payments and rent instead.

And if you are lucky enough to keep buying brand names at my age, no one is impressed anymore, haha.

Not that buying brand names is bad, I have done my fair share. The thing that irritates me is this Hollister company that just popped up everywhere. People who don't even live in California have "CALIFORNIA" shirts and it's really funny to see. Granted, it's just a word but it's also where I live and it honestly confuses me to see it so glorified. I can't shop at a place where it's so dark that I can't read the pricetags and where the clothes are cheap and so the cuts are all way too small for standard sizing.
Never liked Abercrombie much but they do have cute stuff, too bad I can't fit it at my age (18, if you wanted to know).

I have to say that American Eagle has the best fitting bottoms for me, especially jeans. So I buy off clearance online there and get decent deals on quality pants that are made for people who have larger hips than waists (aka not juniors sizing). I also buy specialty tops there on clearance, but tee shirts? I don't care where they come from and I'm certainly not paying $25 for one! Same with swimsuits. Target has extremely simialr ones for half the price.

I just like clothes, honestly.
You can be fashionable and young and "beachy" without wearing A&F and Hollister, but you can also achieve that style much easier with the type of clothes those brands sell - so long as you have the funds and a very skinny body type. And hey, if you do... lucky you!
