Does the ship typically back into the dock at Castaway Cay?

Trying to figure out what side of the ship I want to be on. On our last cruise the ship backed in. In the brochure, the ship goes straight in to the dock at Castaway Cay. What is typical and do the boats do the same thing at Nassau?

Both ships either back in or pull in at the discretion of the captain. I have been on 3 cruises and pulled in twice and backed in once. I think that the weather, wind, waves, have a lot to do with it.

The pictures taken on shore look better if the ship is pulled in. The bow looks better than the stern in these pictures in my opinion.

It seems that the trend, lately, is to back in more often. But, as soon as you count on that, you can bet it will change. It's a bit of a coin toss. We've been on the pier side and the beach side once fully docked. Both have great views. Good luck!
