Does the email have to be valid?

Say you signed up for a sn with a unique email address that was valid at the time, but now it's not.

ie, hotmail deactivates accounts after 45 or so days of inactivity. one of my accounts has been deactivated due to inactivity. will the DIS sn linked to this account then die?

Yes, it's my understanding it has to be a valid email account.
