Does the Disney Corporation Own it's Own Plane??

I know Walt Disney did, because it's sitting at the Studios, but does the corporation now own a private plane??

I'm thinking they must, because in the 9+ years I've been on Disney Newsgroups and Internet Boards, I've never seen

"I was on the same flight as xxxxxxxx (name your Disney executive here)."

If they do fly commercial, I'm sure they fly first class, but first class upgrades are not uncommon with a few FF miles for regular folk.

Does anybody know??

OT: Take the Backstage Lot tour at MGM studios. I think it is still there, the DC3 twin piston engine prop plane that Walt used back in the 1960's to scout out land for WDW.

One of my other interesting facts from reading the financials. They even lease planes from Delta....

Actually they do fly commercial, and they don't always fly first class. I spent an evening in PHL with a Disney executive about 14 months ago. We were both trying to get on an earlier flight standby, neither of us did. Then our regular flight was delayed, and delayed. We ended up grabbing the last two seats on a flight to Tampa, and had to run across PHL to make the flight.

Nice guy, we exchanged numbers and still keep in touch.

I flew a seat in front of Al Wiess - President of Walt Disney World. He was in the Economy section. I was even working at WDW at the time, so of course I talked to him.

I'd guess they probably lease more than one. However, I'm sure that staff fly commercial wherever it is is the best option, and probably in coach most of the time, at least domestically. (FF upgrades excluded, of course.)

Private planes are most effective for the use of multiple staff members taking the same route at the same time, and for very senior executives going somewhere difficult to reach commercially, as their schedules tend to be quite tight, and they may be taking several serial trips. Fuel and the crew are quite expensive, and very few companies allow their private planes to fly nearly empty on a route where non-stop commercial service is available on an acceptable schedule, even when the passenger is the CEO.
