Does the Check In Day of the Week Affect Chances of Getting Room Request?

In short, the last 3 stays at Board Walk on rented DVC points we checked in on Wed once and Thurs twice and we got our room request each time, Courtyard Preferred view for 9 and 10 days. We're flirting with moving the trip to 9 days, arriving on a Tues., checking out the second Thurs. My only concern is that a different check in day might lessen our odds of getting our request which will be the same room as before. Thoughts?

I'm sorry I don't have an answer about your post but I hope you don't mind the intrusion to ask a question. We're going to request renting points at BWV and wanted to find out if we will still have room-charging privileges if we're renting points and not the owner of the points. I have searched here and read every page at David's and still cannot seem to find the answer. Incidentally, we're also hoping to rent Tues to Tues so I hope that's not a bad check-in day.

Not sure about the villas but I can tell you that when it comes to a regular room, I don't think it matters which day of the week you're checking in as it really boils down to availability on that particular day. We've checked in different days of the week over the years and I'd say we received our requests maybe 50-60% of the time.

Regarding the charging, we never used the privilege but we have a CC on file with Disney and we were offered the option when we checked in last Nov. This year, 2 weeks ago actually, our room was ready on arrival at about 9:30 am and with online check in we went straight to the room with no interaction with a person so I don't know if we'd have received the same offer.

You will be able to charge to the room when staying on rented points. Make sure you put your credit card number on file. As far as your room request, the day you arrive has no bearing on the chances to get your requested room.

Approximately 1/7th of all rooms change occupants daily. The day of the week should have little to no effect on requests being met.

as already shared, it will depend on how many rooms are checking out that day, what rooms YOU requested, what TYPES of rooms are departing, and your length of stay.

Agree with all above--day of week shouldn't matter because it is all about availability.

When staying at BWV, we have always requested lobby floor, Village Green view, near elevator and only once were all three requests not fulfilled. The lone exception, the two requests were met, but we overlooked the clown pool. Now, at BCV on the other hand, we have NEVER had our requests met. :confused3

Do all of the studios at BWV have balconies? I would rather not be on the ground floor if the higher floors have balconies rather than a porch.

It would make since to me that checking in on Tues Wed or Thurs would allow you to have a better chance at getting what you requested, since most people would occupy tat Friday - Monday prime days?

Most DVC folks prefer to avoid the higher priced point weekends.

I believe they all do and if not--it would be very few that do not have a balcony or patio. The caveat would be that some balconies are larger than others. We had a balcony earlier this month that would only fit one chair and small table (2061) and we have had rooms on the same floor in the same vicinity which would have fit a full set table, chairs and umbrella. We rarely use the balcony because if we want to be outside, we will be outside pool side, Boardwalk or park.

There used to be a bigger difference between week days and week end points. There’s still a difference but not as drastic as when we first bought in. I no longer avoid weekends but might limit them to 2 weekend nights instead of 3 if it works with our schedule.

I imagine DVC owners who live relatively close to Disney take a lot of short trips on the weekends. That’s what I would do if I didn’t live 700 miles away.

And during special events times, i.e., F&W, F&G, etc.
