Does the $12 Daily "Resort Fee" at GCH Cover Parking?

It didn't last year.....I think it was supposed to be $15 a day. BUT we never got charged for it. We kept expecting a bill for it to be sent to our home. So I can't say what happened and why but it was good! This year when we stay I'm expecting to pay the parking fee, which is a rip off IMHO for non-valet (and a walk too) parking.

If you valet then no, there is an additional parking fee, we self parked and yes, our parking was included with our resort fee. Of course the last time we stayed at GCH was Nov 07 so things could have changed. :)

We stayed there last Oct. The self-park is included in the resort fee. The valet is an additional $17/day (or something like that).

Okay so you have to pay the resort fee AND the valet parking fee? I wasn't planning on doing that, now I'm definately not.

Just back from the GC. Above information is correct -- $17/day for valet in addition to resort fee and free for self parking.

Self parking is less convenient than the last time we stayed there, which is several years ago now. But it's across the street near the Paradise Pier and the lot was full in the spaces closest to the crossing to the hotel. When you check in, $17 sounds absurd. But after your feet are tired, and you're softened up by paying $3.50 for a bottle of water in the parks, by the middle of the trip it doesn't sound so crazy any more!

Parking is included in the resort fee. Also covers the newspapers on weekday mornings, internet access (wired mainly), and access to the workout rooms.

If you used valet last year, you were lucky to not be charged, but your regular parking was covered in the resort fee you paid (or was included invisibly in your package, or was just covered if you stayed using DVC points).

I'm confused by your post, what does it really matter where you are parked? It's not like you have to walk to your car to drive back to your hotel, the GCH is closer than any other DLR hotel. And yes, $17 is absurd, especially on top of the resort fee. I wanted to valet park but no way was I going to pay an additional fee to have someone else park when the self park lot was right across the street. It's really not that big a deal. We drove up, unloaded the kids, me and the luggage and then DBF parked us and met us in the lobby. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezie. :)

Is valet parking free when you stay on DVC points? Do you pay the $12.00 resort fee too? Thanks.

Albort, is this underground lot going to be for everyone? I thought I had read that it would be for valet. It would be great if it is for everyone!

Im not sure either... at first, i thought it was gonna be a CMs only access to a few places but the ramp curved the other way. :| I would think though, that they would have the front part of the hotel be the valet parking and the underground lot to be for guest... though, i am not too sure...

Currently the resort fee is included in your stay when you use your DVC points to stay at any of the DLR hotels. Valet is currently not complimentary when staying at the hotels on DVC points.

Exactly. That's what I was trying to get at in my post (that the fee is just flat out covered when staying on points) but I can see that the point might have gotten lost. :)

Everything might change once the Villas open, though...
