Does Sci-Fi tend to run on schedule or late?

I'm trying to decide if I feel safe with a 2:15/2:30 ADR for my departure day. I'm staying at Yacht Club - and I walk fast - and my flight home is at 7:00pm, so I'm guessing 4:00 for MDE.

Would I be safe with one that late or should I stick with 1:05? Or even look earlier?

If you already have one at 1:05, what is the advantage (if any) to moving it later if you're going to be worried about the time?

I don’t think we’ve ever waited less than 20 minutes after our ADR to be seated. But, since the restaurants at reduced capacity maybe they are faster now.

I was thinking I could do everything I want before lunch, then head back to YC and not have a ton of time to kill before Magical Express.

Thank you! That helps!

I can only speak pre covid, and sci-fi has always been late for us, and service is not overly fast. I know I would be more comfortable with a 1pm lunch and then time for browsing/photos after lunch if it finished early.

Pretty much what everyone said pre-covid. My November trip we weren't seated until 40ish minutes past our time.

We eat at Sci-Fi at least once every trip, and have never been seated later than our ADR time. More often than not, we're seated a bit earlier (we usually get to an ADR 15-20 minutes early) or right on time. We've also been able to get a table pretty quickly as walk-ins. All of this pre-COVID of course.

As a particularly anxious person, I’d much rather eat early and kill some time than potentially be checking my watch every minute.

The only time they've been close to on time was when my ADR was at the time they opened.
Otherwise, we expect a 20-30 minute wait when we show up 10 minutes before our ADR.

Thanks all!

Based on inviting my sister to join me (she has CM admission, so I figure the odds of her getting in Studios would be slim - I don't know the CM rules but figured I'd be considerate) and her not knowing really what her schedule will be (she could be called back to ship by then) I've decided to stick with MK or AK since they open earlier.
