Does rain affect tours? Fantasmic?

I'm going on 12/12, the first day of the new Fantasmic Fastpass experiment, and am doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour that morning. Naturally, the forecast is for rain, and although I plan to pray for dry, I want to be prepared for chaos. ;)

How are the walking tours affected when it rains? Do they cancel and refund or does everyone grab a poncho and keep going? (I've got poncho, umbrella & camera cover ready, as well as waterproof spray for shoes and extra socks and a towel. :lmao: )

How/when do they decide there is too much rain to do Fantasmic, and will they do it if it is only drizzle? Does the show still go on but with modifications?

Any assistance will help. Thanks.

From the Fantasmic SuperThread by HydroGuy:

What happens to the show during bad weather?

Generally Fantasmic! runs during the rain but it does not run if there is concern about lightning. If it is raining some parts of the show may be changed or just nor performed like highwire acrobatics on the ship. Like any outside show if there are high winds the show can get cancelled.

12/12 is too far away to be accurately forcast. It might rain, but the storm that is possible might disappear or more likely will come at a different time frame

Idk but I read a review of the Christmas tour once and the person reviewing it mentioned it rained through the whole tour (though the parade still happened at the end so it must not have been raining too much by then).

I'm concerned too. We have the Discover the Magic tour planned for the morning of 12/12. I saved up a pretty hefty amount of money to take my 3 kids on the tour and it is a surprise. Disneyland is their Christmas present this year so I thought a surprise like this on our final days in the park would be a good final "hurrah" before we leave.

Sure hoping the weather changes a little. Even if it rains on us Thursday and Friday was dry or if the rain is a light sprinkle. I can't imagine touring Tom Sawyer island in the rain and marching through puddles with groups of whiny children.

So we are saying prayers and crossing fingers.... regardless I'm ready to for some Disney Magic!!

And great idea to waterproof shoes!!

We still have a reservation for Sunday 12/14 for F!, in addition to the one we plan to use on the 12th. Decided to keep both, and will decide on the 11th which we're cancelling! Don't want to pay the extra $$ to do the package at BB to have it rained out or have it be the revised show!

It has been my experience that children never whine about the opportunity to march through puddles. :goodvibes

It rained when we took the tour - off and on, the host had an umbrella with her the entire time and had to use it some, many of us had them as well. It was still a great tour. The great thing was that after the tour, due to the rain, the park was very, very quiet and we were able to walk on or wait like 5 minutes for most rides.
