Does Minnie & Friends or Mickey & Friends need to be booked?

After a 14 hour flight from Australia, then hitting up the parks the next day from 8am to 11pm (I don't know if we'll last or not), I just don't know whether my sister & I will be willing to get up early for a character breakfast. So I don't want to make a PS res if we decide against it.
BUT if we do feel like it, what kind of wait do you think we'd be facing for Minnie's or Mickey's? oh, it'd be for Tues the 19th (*hopefully* a slow day)

TIA

Steph

Edit: I meant Mickey's or Goofy's... don't want to cut into park time!

We were just there in December, with half of Australia :lmao: and we had breakfast twice at Mickey and Friends and once at Minnie and Friends. Both times the places were 3/4's empty, but it was a quiet time I guess. I would still make a booking, but really we were calling and making booking (or priority seating) sometimes half an hour before we would go to a meal, like carnation cafe. We called one night to make a booking for Mickey and Friends the next morning and I couldn't get the time I wanted, but about 10 minutes out. When I gave my name, he said "you already have a booking, you made it with me last week" :lmao::rotfl2: Didn't I feel like an idiot. I said "Oh great, so I have a booking for the time I originally wanted" he said "yes" But when we got there, the restaurant wasn't even half full.

You can always make a PS and decide against it. You don't pay a deposit for the reservation, so you could make it planning to go and if you sleep in, then just call and cancel, or don't, they will give your table to somebody else.

Have a great trip :wizard:

Sorry, just read your edit.

We ate at Goofys three times last month. Twice we had priority seating, once we just turned up, the time we turned up we were seated in about 5 minutes, both times we booked it was 10+ minute wait :lmao:

Again, you could book and if you aren't up to it, then cancel or don't show (we haven't done this, but were running late one morning by accident, got our time mixed up, and they had our booking off to the side with a huge pile and just dug it out). So plenty of people book I assume and don't show up by the look of that pile.

Thanks for that Aussie! I didn't realise you could leave booking so late, I'll definately keep that in mind :thumbsup2

You can book the same day if they have openings. :) We tend to make our bfast PS no earlier then 10 am, then you get some touring time and the restaurant tends to clear out. Of course that's at Minnie's. :) We Goofy's at 9 am and hated it, the food was OK but the characters ignored us and we had 2 kids at the table. :( Chip & Jasmine were the characters that interacted with us, the rest just waved as they walked by our table on their way out. :( So make yourself a PS and then see what happens, where are you staying? We had a GREAT time at Minnie & Friends (I know you meant Goofy's & Mickey but we haven't done Mickey's), loads of characters, good food, it was a lot of fun. We spent almost 2 hours there eating and playing with the characters, our PS for that one was 10:00 and we didn't leave until almost 12.

Thanks pixiewings! We are staying at HOJO. We only have 2 days at the park, which is why I'm concerned abour cutting into park time. But I have read great things about Minnie's and it would be my first choice.
I guess I will keep it as an option and see how we are going for time.
What time does the PS phone number open in the morning?

We found the best character interaction at Minnie and Friends in the park. We were kind of disappointed with Goofy's character interaction, but we were only comparing it to our last visit about 5 years before, when there seemed to be so many characters and they were all so fun, but we went three times thinking it may have just been an off night (or morning).
