Does MDE show room assignment?

Our trip is almost here and I thought I read somewhere that once your room gets assigned it shows up on your MDE. I know once your room is ready, you get a message that your room is ready. But I am wondering if it shows your room number once assigned. If so, when did you get notified? Was it your check in day or earlier?

You will get it once the room is ready for you. The room you get assigned a few days out could very well change to a different room by the time you get there.

I have yet to have our room number show up in MDE, but I did get an email that the rooms were ready and the room number there. I think if you get to Disney before it's ready the number never shows up, at least that's what's happened to me so far.

I've had the room number show up since it was launched. I did not get a room ready text actually because we checked in at the desk not online but by the time we got to our room the app updated and our room number was there. Made it easier across the week because I didn't have to remember it.

Thanks all for the reply. Looks like i will have to wait till check in day to find out which room we will have. We have a split stay this time 1 night / 8 night and I was hoping that the room number for our 2nd reservation would show up a day early on our MDE. I was thinking of skipping the front desk, but won't now. I am hopping to get to stay in the same room. I did call an put in the request. If we don't have the same room, hopefully that can change it at the front desk before we head to our room. If not, I just won't unpack anything more than needed.

Not only do you have to wait until checkin day, you need to wait until your room is clean and READY for you. That could be 3 or later. You should ask at check in again to stay in the same room.

I have never checked my MDE for my room number as I have always gotten it with a text before we got there. Could it ever come up in my MDE before I get the text message? I wonder if I will get my room number at Hilton Head for my reservation at Hilton Head this September before we get there? Will be interesting to see.

Our room number showed up in my MDE account before I got the room text earlier this month. It is the first time we've had the room number show up in our MDE account. :)

There was an update to the MDE app recently that stated you will now see the room number in the app. The wording I read is that you can get either a text or email notification that the room is ready and the room number will now appear in the app.

That's the plan, to stop at check-in and see if we have the same room. We don't get in till evening, so hopefully our room is ready.

The best advice as a hotelier is don't get so fixed on having the exact same room. The chances aren't good. If somebody is staying in that room it won't be available and they won't force that party to leave. If someone is assigned that room and checks in before you same scenario. There are many operational reasons it won't happen and Disney hotels are very full all the time with a high percentage of multi day stays unlike most hotels. If it does happen consider yourself very lucky but don't expect it. If you get the same room category in the same area the experience will be the same.

I do think I have a good chance of getting the same room. I have searched the forums looking for people that have been able to stay in the same room and when/how they requested it. I have put my request in and it has been noted that I have 2 reservations. I have found more people stating they they stayed in the same room, than those saying they had to move. When the person assigns my first reservation, they look for a 9 nights instead of 1 night. If I had only 1 reservation that was 9 nights, they would not have me move. On an economic standpoint, it makes only sense for them to try and put us in the same room. Of course if we have to move, I will be fine with it, just won't be unpacking the first night.

We just did this 2 weeks ago at BWI. We had a 1 night then a 5 night booked for the same room category. I requested same room before we left and then when we arrived I asked at the front desk. The CM checked the computer and said we were all set to stay put in the same room. Easy and stress free.

Since you arrive in the evening, the front desk should be able to see if the room is blocked for entire stay. You can still do on line check in, you have both reservations linked as continuing stay? But do stop at the desk after you arrive to remind them you would like to stay in the same room. Be sure you like the room first before requesting to stay in it lol!! I have done a few split stays in the same resort, and if I'm staying in same room category I find if you go to the desk around 9:00 or later they can see if you're in the same room.
