Does it matter?

Does it matter what your home resort is if you typically go in value season, or early november? I am trying to decide where to buy... we like the location and amenities at BCV but like the 2 toliets in a 1 bd room at AKV. Just wondering how hard it would be to book in the 7 mo time span vs. 11 mo.

(FYI- other DVCs don't really appeal to us... so these are the ones we are considering!)

TIA!

Early November is tough to book at the EPCOT resorts - BCV & BWV.

It's Food & Wine Festival time at EPCOT and early November is especially popular with New Jersey DVC members. The NJ Teachers have a convention during that first week (2 days of no school), so many families take that entire week off to visit WDW. FWIW, I think there were waitlists for at least some of that week (for this November 2007) before the 7 month window even opened. There are several posts on the boards now about not being able to get a reservation at BCV for that first week of November.

If that is your favorite time to visit WDW and you want BCV, better buy there. Busy times for the parks are not necessarily the easiest time sto book DVC accomodations.

That said, I asumed you could book 11 monthsahead. If you can only book 7 months or less ahead, it doesn't matter where you buy -

Value Season and Premier Seasons are typically the hardest seasons to get reservations. People really like the cheap points and many plan vacations around the value season.

I agree... Buy where you will most often stay. Less stress, fewer disappointments.

Yep... Most often piece of advice given on this board...

"Buy where you want to stay.."

"If you could stay no where else but <Insert Resort Name Here> would you be happy?"

At the very least, buy where you wouldn't mind staying.

Thank you all... I am sure it has been asked a million times. But, I'm just getting all this figured out and appreciate all the help!

Ditto to what everyone else has said. Because of the Food and Wine festival, BCV can be difficult to book in October and November even WITH home resort priority, and impossible to book at the 7 month window. If you know you want to stay there during these months, it would be unwise to buy elsewhere.
