Does it matter what "screen protector" for ipod touch?

I have an iPhone. I bought a screen protector from the AT&T store and it didn't do too well. When I had to take the phone in to the Apple store they noticed it, and put a new one on my phone for free. It's awesome, and makes a huge difference. I suggest going to the Apple store to purchase one!

Go to the Apple store and get the non-glare kind if the fingerprints on the others drive you batty! :thumbsup2 It's a 2-pack and after a year I still have the original on it and it's going strong - very happy.

Bought several different ones for Ipod Touch and LG Touch phones on Amazon for a couple bucks or less each. All have held up well. Better than the originals that came with the phones from Verizon. The kids especially liked the mirrored ones for the Ipod.

Buy a Zagg shield. Best money ever I've ever spent. I've had my iPhone full body cover (back and screen) on for around 2 years and it is just starting to get a little old (lifting in the corners because some lint has gotten underneath).

I bought whatever was cheap on ebay for my ipod touch. Grandkids, 3 and 6, use it all the time. Fingerprints and kid stickiness, and it's fine. I think I paid $5.

Have never used a screen protector for my iPod Touch and don't feel that I need one. BTW, the Apple Store no longer sells any type of screen protector for iPhone, Touch, or iPad. Evidently, the protectors were damaging screens by leaving a residue and Apple no longer recommends using them.

if you are looking at listings on Ebay then I think the 2x, 3x is indicating the quantity of covers you will receive. I just purchased a 5x mirror cover and I received 5 covers. I wanted to send a couple to friends and have a backup for myself. They "claim" it leaves no residue. You can also find free shipping. Just make sure you chose a USA distribution otherwise it will take a few weeks to get. Hope that helps.

Look an Amazon.com, they are always the cheapest and have the best variety. I use iFrogz screen protectors for my iPhone and I love them!

I bought an inexpense pack of 8 screen protectors at Walmart for $5 a while ago. Both DH & have been happy with them for our touch. They were really expensive elsewhere.

Also, ebay has some great buys on Touch and Phone accesories.

That is odd! They're still in the apple store website:

But I do see where they'll be pulled next month. :confused3
And as for residue, I don't recall the film as being sticky - it was static only, I think. Oh, well...obviously if it's been working on my phone for years it's probably fine. LOL!
