Does it matter if you don't stay at a host hotel for Princess 1/2 Marathon?

I am trying to decide where to stay for Princess 1/2 Marathon. Does it matter if you don't stay at a host hotel. I have a 3 and 5 year old we are going from March 3-8. I want to stay somewhere we have not stayed so looking at Boardwalk or Contemporary. Any opinions??

If you have your own car, you can stay anywhere you want and drive to the race.

No it doesn't matter but you will have to get yourself to the start and that is no fun.

The bus makes it more interesting.

I will not have my own car and will have a family that wants to get to the finish line as well. How hard is it to get a cab?

It is usually pretty easy to get a cab at the boardwalk. You can also call the night before and request one come for you at a particular time.
