..get stressful? For those of you who've had both professional videographers and photographers, do the two vendors ever "get in the way" of each other? I don't want the videographer to be in all the pictures or vice versa. How does it work when you have both, does it become sort of a competition between the vendors, or are they good about not being intrusive?

Any experiences or opinions are appreciated, thank you! :goodvibes

While I can't speak for a Disney wedding, I will say that our videographer and photographer seemed to get along just fine. I suspect they run into each other a few times a year and do their best to maintain a professional relationship. Most often, the videographer will get "priority" for the live event, and then the photographer can stage all the shots they need immediately following.

We used Randy Chapman (Chapman Photography) and Stan (STVS) -- they have worked together so many times before and seemed to get along great. Stan kind of "took over" and Randy caught "unscripted" moments - then Randy did some staged photos too. Out of all of my proofs (and there were hundreds), I don't recall seeing Stan in any of them and in my finished video, I think we saw Randy once in the background. No stress here and we are SO pleased we had both! Good luck and happy planning!

We didn't marry in Disney (and it was some years ago) but our photographer and videographer worked very well together and there's no hint of either in the other's work. Plus, we go back and look at both for different reasons so I say go for it! :sunny:

Best wishes!

not married yet, but we are using randy chapman & stan of stvs wedding videos for our photos & videos. i know from others on this board that they work together often & are seemless like you hardly know they are there. only 5 months & 1 day to go.

This was a concern that I had as well. ONe thing I did when I chose the people I wanted (Randy and Stan) I asked them how they preferred to work and if they worked with anyone really well. I want to make sure that they are happy. Even though they assured me that they could work with anyone, I think that they are a strong team together. Make sure you ask those questions. They are REALLY important for your comfort level, and let your photographer and videographer know that you care about their comfort zone as well. I feel that this helps to build a relationship.

This was our main concern as well. We were reluctant to hire a videographer, because since we splurged on photography, the last thing we wanted was for the videographer to get in the way of our photographers (husband and wife team). We ended up hiring a husband and wife team recommended by our photographers. That worked out great because they had all worked together before, and respected each other's work. They worked like a 4 person photo/video team. It was great!

I think that they will usually work it out and respect each other, but it doesn't hurt to ask for recommendations... :)

good luck!

At our recent wedding, we used a Disney photographer and Stan from STVS as our videographer....

They worked perfectly together and very effortlessly.....

I believe that we had one (wide shot) picture that had our videographer in it, but that was it....I believe that our photographer we took the same pic immediately w/out him...

I wanted to capture the actual wedding on video, to 'hear' ourselves say our vows, to see our children/parents come down the aisle, as a bride misses all of the good stuff....

We had both six years ago. It cost $350 for each one and that included the negatives back on the pictures along with the albulm. At the time Disney Photography/Videography was charging over $1500 for EACH. I had all the vendors that were listed on the sheet provided by my planner send samples of photos and videos and chose from there.

Although many of them did both, I liked the photos from one person (Broadway Fotographics) better than the rest and the video from a different person (Visual Impact Communications). (I have no idea if either of these two are still on Disney's list, though).

Turns out the two guys used to work together before splittling up and going their separate ways. HOWEVER, they were so professional and talked and laughed together and coordinated everything so well. Didn't have a single problem with either of them getting in the other's way. And my pictures AND video were PERFECT! They were both better than I could have imagined.

I assume that Disney picks folks that are professional and will do their best to get along with each other and be accomodating. I doubt they want to lose Disney weddings as a client.

Good luck AND BE SURE TO DO BOTH!!!!

We didn’t have any problems with them getting in each other’s way. We also used Randy and Stan, and they have worked together countless times. I don’t recall seeing our videographer in any of our pictures, and we only saw Randy in our video a couple of times (but it wasn’t a problem). We are SO glad we did both photography and videography. I can’t imagine not having them both now.

Has anyone ever used Disney and STVS together? I need to use Disney Photo to meet my minimum but i really love Stans video. Let me know if you've used this combo.

thanks

Thanks for all your input! I'm glad to hear that it shouldn't be a problem :sunny:

And thanks for the suggestion of asking them if they are comfortable with one another, sounds like a good idea!

Thanks again :goodvibes
