Does Genie+ retain its value if ticket isn’t used?

Currently planning a Christmas trip. Have a family member that is still on the fence about coming. I’m planning to buy tickets in the next couple of days to be able to lock in our park reservations before they sell out. When I went to UT to check on tickets it gave the option of adding Genie+ to it. If I purchase and add Genie+ now and the person doesn’t go, I’m assuming everything I purchase will retain its value and if he backs out, I can save that ticket w/Genie+ for a later trip? Only paying if the price goes up before next use?
