Does faster computer effect quest times

This has been bugging me for a long time.

I look at some of the quest times and say no way they did it that fast. So I am wondering how someone could be over a minute faster than me if I did it as fast as I can. Meaning I click next and know the answer right off.

It there something I am missing here. The only thing other than the fastest clicking in the kingdom is the speed of your computer must play a big difference.

Any tips or hints.

i just think that they begin the quest straight out as soon as it opens to run passed the crowd swarming starting the quest. because usually in some places, there become queues of large amounts and thats what i think slows down people, while the people who started the quest first, are running passed others.

And yes, i do also believe that it could be their computers.

I would say on a normal day, yes. But on a day like yesterday when EVERYONE was having lag and dc and crash issues I'd say everyone was affected fast computer or not.

These people are also probably using short cuts somewhere in the quest in order to save time. For example: having a typed answer ready before you get to a question that requires a typed response.

A faster computer also can open a window faster, including the little task window, the window to change clothes, changing rooms load in, etc. On those super short quests, for example one or two task, my computer doesn't even open the next task window as fast as some ppl can get it done. That is more than just a short cut key set up.

Yep. A faster computer does affect how fast you can get a quest done.
I use the "shortcuts" if I can and even after doing a quest 20 times, I still can't get a fast time on the last one. But, I have a 6 yo slow computer.

Hi,

I notice an overall difference between my 2 PCs. One has 512K and the other has 4GB of RAM. I get dc and major lag on the one with only 512. The PC I play on with 4GB is the only way to play VMK. Reduced lag and I never dc in the music rooms or while 7000+ ppl are on. To the point of a quest itself, I do get throughit much faster. The windows pop open immediately after I answer the question.

Ways they may have done the quest faster:

1) They already did it once and now know all the answers.
2) Open up your clothing window before quest to make sure it is "loaded", thus saving time.
3) Pre-type some answers if you know them (see 1).
4) Go into emptry rooms if possible.
