Does DVC make you feel like you're a member of a private club . . . an exclusive private club?

In the very early years, there were far fewer members. Marketing gave some nice little welcome home gifts like photo albums and such when you'd visit. So it did feel a bit exclusive in the early years.

As membership grew, it obviously wasn't cost effective to continue nice welcome gifts and free pass incentives, as a marketing tool. So the "exclusive" feeling didn't last too long....but what does last are all the wonderful memories with family and friends over the last 27 years...and that's better than feeling "exclusive" any day.
How many 15th anniversary giclée paintings do you have? I think we have two still in their boxes.

This seemed like a 'no' until last Sunday.
I use my drawstring DVC bag for my gaming gear, and I was at a convention playing Dread, an rpg with a Jenga tower. There is a rule that lets you sacrifice yourself to succeed on an action, and the drama of the story demanded that I knock over the tower to save my compatriots. An observer noticed my bag and said "I'd expect nothing less from a DVC member."

Are we like, Knights Templar or something?

No, we are Jedi Knights...after all, it is Disney!

I guess I am different than many on here. Yes, I feel like I am part of a relatively small group of people. True, there are 250,000 of us. But that's still small compared to the number of people who visit Disney. It's no longer Disney's "best kept secret". The secret is out! However, I still feel that as a "member" of DVC, people expect us to be the experts on all things Disney (and we are in our circle). I feel like we know more than the average person about Disney's plans. I wish we knew even more - it seems like Disney Files has fallen off and doesn't come very often now or give us anything exciting to make us feel more knowledgeable than the average bear. However, yes - I do feel like I am part of a smallish club of people.
