Does drinking beer, wine, etc make u physically numb?

It takes a few to get me physically numb, not just one or two.

One or two however, gives me a decent buzz and my pain receptors are definitely less keen.

Actually the first drink hurts. It's like all the tension in my muscles all come out at the same time. After that well I'm a fun and cheap drunk like 3 beers and I'm good.
