My mom and I are doing the Royal Family 5K next month. I'm walking it with her since I'm also doing the 1/2 on Sunday. She's been training around a 16:30 pace, and I'm sure with the race atmosphere, she'll be down to 16:00 min miles on race day. I really want to get pictures with characters along the course together, but I doubt we'll both have time to stop if Disney is strict about the pace rule. Since the course doesn't go out on the main roads, are they usually strict and sweep people? Worst case scenario, I'll stop for pictures solo, then run and meet her after. I would just prefer to get pictures together...
We seemed to finish in a large clump of people (after the 45:00 time limit) and there were still lots of people behind us.
I had been training for the half and even gotten up to doing 6 miles in my training. I'm more of a walker than an runner, but I have managed to do a little jogging with out pain. I'm hoping that on race day I walk/jog faster than ever because of how excited I am, but I still have that looming thought of being the loser swept from the 5k lol This news of no sweeping during a 5k gives me great relief though, I hope that you are all right, and that they don't just decide to do it this year!! Good luck everybody and thanks for the info!! See you guys soon!
