Hi all,

Hoping someone out there can help me with this question. My DS (8) has asthema and we leave in 6 days and I want to see if I need to pack his nebulizer or just his medication for it with a new mask. Does anyone out there in the DIS universe know if Disney has nebulizers that we can use if he has an asthema attack - he doesn't use an inhaler yet?

Thanks for your help!:goodvibes

No. Disney does not have nebulizers available.

You might check with Care Medical (see Post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs for their phone number) which is a full-service medical supply company and ask about a rental. Click on the link in my signature to get directly to the FAQs.

Was going to write what Cheshire Figment wrote, but he beat me to it!

you might consider buying a portable neb like the aeroneb. I believe it's also battery powered. Not sure if you could attach the mask or would have to use the mouthpiece.

We always just packed DS when he needed one. We used to take it on a carry on. But haven't done that since 9/11, and now with the stricter weight limitations on luggage I am happy they all use inhalers. :)

I don't know if you/your DS travel to WDW before, but my kids ALWAYS needed their neb treatments when in WDW. Even the 3 I have that can go years without needing an inhaler/neb. They always needed it in WDW. But we go in there can be a 40 degree difference in temps from when we leave MA to when we hit FLA (and vice versa).

Hopefully, the info Doc provided will be helpful!

Best of luck and have a great trip!

I also wanted to mention that you can store a nebulizer in First Aid at any park.

My son has a potable neb (I forget the brand) and it can run off battery, car plug or plug in the wall and it uses a mask. I only had to pay a small upcharge for it.
