Does Disney ever "dump" rooms days prior?

What I mean is... We're looking to go Feb vacation week, but not able to use the codes i'd like.

Dh is now wondering if they dump the rooms at a low price say a couple days prior if they are fully booked??? We're driving so we're pretty flexible. Does anyone know if this ever happens?

I've never known them to. There are sometimes additional AP or other discount rooms that open up as you get to cancellation milestones. For example, you have to cancel a room only reservation 5 days before arrival, so sometimes you can get discounts where there were none the day before.

Sehlingher's Unofficial Guide refers to a AAA tourist center, in Ocala, I believe, that has rooms listed and available on a 'same-day' basis, deeply discounted. The deal is, you drive in the day you want to start your stay and they often have rooms foe nearly half off. We've never tried this and I wouldn't count on anything during peak seasons. Worth a try if you're already going and don't have a room on arrival day.
