Does Disney even care about this?

So, yesterday was my 180+ day to make dining reservations. I've read (here) over the past few months that the website seems to have consistent issues of not being about to accommodate these requests. It will let you make reservations for your check in day, but not for the remainder of your stay. I started seeing these issues back in December and just hoped they would be resolved by March. Well, sure enough, I set an alarm (on a weekend!!) yesterday, got online and still had to call. We don't have cell service at home, so it was about 35 minutes of long distance charges. Sure, it's not going to break me, but it's an avoidable cost. And on top of the waiting, I would just rather look around at the times myself instead of feeling like I'm being a pain asking the cast member for different options.

I'm assuming since we are going on three months now and Disney really doesn't care if it gets fixed. I know there is a customer service e-mail listed on these boards, but is an email even worth it?

I don't think an email would hurt. I was quite frustrated this morning while trying to make my ADR,s as well. It would be easier to swallow if they had a toll free number. I don't understand why they don't :confused3

In part to limit the number of people calling. Otherwise people would call every day, just in case something "better" opened up than what they have. They want people to call when they really need to call and want to book or change an ADR.

Also because it is so easy to pass the cost on to us, instead of them paying for a 1-800 number.

They don't have a toll free number due to the fact that when they did, it was trolled and cost them a small fortune.

Today, on my 180 day mark, the whole system is down. We can't book online or by telephone. I got up at 5:45 on my vacation and still have no reservations for my vacation. Very frustrating that I will have to keep checking all day until it is back up.

I had issues with the online reservation system when I made dining reservations for our December 2011 trip 180 days out and I had some (minimal) issues when I made online dining reservations for our December 2012 trip. I tried to make dining reservations this morning for our September trip and it's down. The only thing that makes me feel slightly better about it this time is that it's just not the online system.

It seems like Disney tries to do too many technological advancements before they're ready to be implemented. How about instead of doing a complete overhaul of the current online reservation system to be able to work with the My Disney Experience, they just make the current one work really well at first? :confused3

Agreed! And like many others, last month I faced the same daunting task with the same problem. Personally, I think they should go back to the original system for now while working on the problem. I know the only way to see if any new system works is by putting it out there, but they did that and it failed. Time to go back to the drawing board. Give us back the old system; at least it worked!

I thought the same thing when I had trouble making reservations past 180 days yesterday morning! Thankfully, knowing how in-the-know DISers are, I checked the boards and found that I could make them on the British site. Of course, that's down now; and I've got reservations to make beyond the 180+10! I fail to understand why Disney can do the near impossible in the parks but can't run an efficient website!!!:crazy2:

I've been trying to do online check in for 8 days. I check into Kidani Thursday. :/

It's just so frustrating. I mean, let's face it, most of us are still going to go. You aren't going to cancel an entire Disney trip because their web people are totally incompentent. They are in a win-win situation.

The website problem with 180+10 has been occuring long enough that it could be intentional. Maybe they're trying to wean us off that feature like possible EMH reductions.

I don't want a flashy website, I want one that works ... quickly.
