My son is really hoping we can go to Maho Beach to see the planes take off/land when we are there in November... does DCL offer an excursion to this particular beach? We really don't like to do non-DCL excursions or even venture too far from the ship on our own... One near miss is all it takes to be uber-cautious!!

TIA!

We have been to Maho many times. Just grab a cab at the port a simple flat rate per person, when you are ready to leave Maho there are plenty of cabs waiting to go back to the ship. We have always felt VERY SAFE doing it this way.

I have never seen it offered as an excursion on any cruise line.

Thanks for your feedback... I'm such a chicken when it comes to non-DCL excursions... how far/long of a cab ride is it to Maho? We have a 4:45 all-aboard time, and I don't know when planes are taking off/landing... is there a flight schedule so we don't make the trip for nothing?

Relax. If your so worried your going to miss your ship just head back super early like 2 or something. St. Maarten is one of my favorite islands. There are rental cars and jeeps within the cruise terminal. For $80 or $90 a day you can have your own vehicle to go where and when you please. I recommend Costal rental cars because their jeeps are really new. They drive on the normal (American) side of the road and it's a very safe island. At Maho the larger planes come in the afternoon so I would start with a beach on the French side and then come back. Live a little. Maybe baby steps and just Maho and shopping.
