Does Dcl ever let people off the ship early the day they dock in Cozumel?

We are doing the Galveston cruise next week. Was wondering if they ever let people off at 7:30 or 7:45 if they happened to dock early?
It says 8:30 on the DCL schedule.

We are used to travelling, 2 adults only, and if we got lucky and got off early we could make the 8am Ferry to visit Playa Del Carmen.
The current Ferry schedules say they don't leave until 10am the 21st of Nov when we will be there.
I checked both ferries online.
Leaving at 10am on the ferry would be ok, but we would love if we were able to catch the 8am and have a little more time that day to explore. We would prefer to not spend a lot of time waiting on the ferry but will if we have to.

If there was a 9am ferry it would be ideal but right now it does not like there are any running at that time.

If Disney says 8:30am, then that's when they expect to be docked and cleared to allow passengers off the ship. If you make plans before that time, then you do so at your own risk.

Yes of course. We just wondered if there was a chance because if so we might go down a little early to wait to get off the ship.
We are aware of all that and it's not a sure thing.

We are aware of all that and it's not a sure thing. That is why I said in my OP "if we get lucky". I made it pretty clear I was only wondering if it ever happened not if it was a sure thing or not. Of course 8:30 is the expected time and it could even be later than that.

Don't you have to join a queue to get off the ships now?

I think for the final day you do but I don’t know about port stops. This will be our fifth Disney cruise but we have not done any during Covid.
We have been to Cozumel once before but it was years ago flying, not on a cruise.

It not a big deal if we have to wait til 830 or later but it would be great if we didn’t. I wondered if anyone ever had a situation where they got off like an hour early in Cozumel but I have doubts. I really don’t know though.

my guess is we can’t get off early but who knows.

Currently, yes, you join a virtual queue to get off the ship at port. That's true for Castaway Cay, too! Only concierge guests and guests with an excursion get to skip the queue.

Even if others had been able to get off early at a port, there's no guarantee that you would be able to . . .

I would plan on not making the early ferry. Even if the ship docks early, in my experience (22 on DCL) they do not let people debark early. In addition to physically docking, they also have to be cleared by the local authorities, and that is probably already scheduled.

Not sure if you got the answer you needed, but I wouldn't count on it. We docked in Cozumel around 7:30 AM this past week when we were on the Magic but didn't get the clear to go ashore till 8:30 AM. I would assume there's probably extra things to deal with now when docking/allowing guests off the ship.

I would say, plan on the 10 AM ferry and enjoy the extra rest time on the ship. Have a great cruise!
