Does Cape May steam boil use whole clams?

My husband gets deathly ill if he eats whole clams - not an allergy, just doesn't agree with him. I'm guessing this uses whole clams so this may be a dumb question, but thought I'd see if someone knows for sure. (We always loved Cape May but haven't been back since crab legs now cost extra.)
