Does buying a power pass make sense?

We are staying at Portifino. The SMSM rate is actually $5 less than the APH rate. The power pass does not include discounts on restaurants and shops, right? If that's true, the only thing I can see us benefiting from would possibly be a discount on blue man group tickets, but I can't tell from the website what the discount will be, to see if it justifies the increased cost of the power pass... It asks for the AP # before giving the discount. If it's 10%, then that will be about $30 for us, which would only be a $10-15 savings after the cost of the pass (from a 4 day ticket)... Would there be any other benefit of getting one that I may be missing?

Was just doing the math on this myself. We are meeting friends so we have the FL resident rate for our room. With the buy 2 days get 2 days ticket sale, buying the power pass doesn't seem worth it unless you will be back within the year. Since we are very likely to return, we are opting for the Pass. If I was 100% certain that we would not be making another visit, I would not get the AP as the other benefits do not equal the cost difference (unless you need the APH discount for the room which it seems you don't either).

Where did you get the 2 plus 2 days tickets? I can't seem to get on US' website right now and I didn't see it on UT. If that is available to anyone, not just FL residents, then it definitely won't make sense...that would be great!

We are not FL residents but are meeting a friend who is so she booked the rooms that we'll be sharing.

Sorry, my bad on the ticket sale. The 2+2 offer is only on the ticketsatwork website. It's a corporate discount site that many companies belong to. They usually beat ticket prices by a few dollars or have special bogo sales. In this case the 2+2 Park2Park (incl tax) is 192.86. The 4 day P2P on the US website is 208.73 so we would save about $15.

APs are not offered from ticketsatwork. For me the cost to upgrade to the AP is $36pp, for you it's even less at $20pp I think. But still only worth it if you will be using it again, not worth it for the one trip unless you need it for a room discount.

Are you planning on going back next year?

If so most passes have a renewal discount, so it might not make too much of a difference this time but next year it may be more.

I don't have the power pass I have the next one up (preferred?) but it is a lot cheaper to renew than the first year purchase.

That's really good to know, thanks!
