Does anyone want to venture a guess when Disney World will be completely back to it's 2019 level again?

because for many people the risk of covid/complications isn't worth not living their life and enjoying the time they do have. Life involves risk and each person assumes the risk they can deal with. The risk of death or long term complications is still not very high. When disney loosens they will probably loose some people but gain many more. Living 2.5 hours from Disney I know more that are waiting for no masks to go to Disney now then are willing to go with them (some went with them and now are done and waiting) and they would all go now maskless if they could.

So now some reality:

1. You have roughly a 1 in 10 chance of getting Covid which is actually statistically quite high, and if you catch Covid you have roughly a 1 in 2 chance of having long term complications which is very high - even if you only have a mild case.

2. And the other issue of Covid is that right now, everyone's actions affect so many other people directly and indirectly, putting many at risk - a risk they didn't choose. That is the problem of Covid - all the people who thought it's no big deal, and who insisted on just living life, have drug it all out for everyone, and contributed to killing millions and disabling millions more. But some are too dense to see that.

Please take the fear mongering elsewhere,

My first job in college was writing code in a lab that was researching bubonic plague. Yes the disease which wiped out half of the European population in the middle ages. And its still just as deadly today and now we are talking about a disease with a mortality rate of greater than 50 percent, Yeah if you get Bubonic plague you are in all likelihood going to die. compared to that Covid is bush league but the media has people thinking its deadlier than any disease to date. Viral hemorrhagic fevers like Marburg or Ebola also have high infection rates and mortality exceeding 90% Yes Covid is a very serious disease but the media has lost all sense of perspective and perhaps worse because Covid 19 has done so little apparent damage. If something really bad comes along people will not take it seriously enough because the media cried wolf one too many times,

Covid is a bobcat not a wolf both are dangerous but if the press had taken dangerous bobcat on the loose. People would still take the wolf seriously when it shows up

Actually no you don’t have a 1 in 2 chance of having a long term complications. The highest I have seen reported is up to 30% of Covid survivors , which up to means could be 5%, 10 or 30.
Plus now they are seeing that those with long Covid that the vaccine is easing those symptoms. Plus there is still the side that will take time to know more is if the long term symptoms were caused by Covid or something else and how does it all play together. It’s not black and white.

Everyday people make decisions that can indirectly or directly affect someone but the media doesn’t talk about that non stop so people don’t think of it.

Nice try. When the biggest medical entities out there have already reported that they are caused by Covid, yeah, it is that black and white.

But at any rate, I won't waste my time further.

This may go down as the stupidest, not to mention most insensitive, comment I've seen yet.

Ask the loved ones of the over 500,000 people who died if they agree.

Ask the thousands upon thousands now suffering from long term health complications if they agree.

Ask the doctors and nurses and front line workers if they agree.

There are truly no words for you.

Its not black and white, and no they haven't 100% every case is caused by covid, some maybe yes but others not fully. Medical just like science is rarely black and white.

As I said take the fear mongering elsewhere, CDC's numbers indicate out of the 540,000 deaths attributed to Covid only 9% (48,600) were due entirely to Covid the remainder had a minimum of 2.8 co-morbidities (conditions which could also lead to patient deaths). I'm pretty certain that the CDC has the correct numbers.

Hospitals had a perverse incentive to inflate the Covid numbers because the goverment gave them an extra payment if the patient was Covid positive.

As for me personally I've had COVID and I had two close friends die because they could not get necessary surgery for their conditions due to Covid restrictions on hospitals.

How many died because they could not get lifesaving care because of covid related hysteria ???. How many committed suicide because they were cut off from their social support systems ??? how many died of broken hearts and loneliness in nursing homes because of no visitor policies and draconian no device policies many families were willing to buy their loved ones tablets and phones so they could video conference with their loved ones but once again covid hysteria prevented bringing in brand new devices which could have been sanitized.

That said even with Covid the average death rate in the US during 2020 remained the same as it was in 2019 so more people were not dying for any reason.

The most interesting thing though is colds and flu were almost eliminated this year due to increased sanitation.

Just checked in to read the last couple of pages about Disney returning to normal but instead have read COVID arguments. Apparently COVID causes one thing without a doubt, everyone on either side loses their ever loving mind.

TTA better open soon to soothe the patrons.

Ventured guess of when WDW will return to its 2019 level both for operations and attendance: March 2022

Beside that I feel optimistic Covid numbers will drop significantly going in to summer, and the outlook will improve enough to start adding experiences back at WDW as well increasing capacity. Definitely possible. I think that has better odds of happening than next winter being a repeat of this year.
I’d give MNSSHP a 20% chance at being held, MVMCP over 50%, and MK fireworks by Oct 1st at least 80%.
Can we end up losing ground somehow? Maybe, but I’d give that some slim odds... like under 10%. Things are gonna get much better this year I can feel it 😁

I hope it is normal (or a cool, new normal that feels as good or better than before) by Feb 2022 bc that’s when I’m going!! I want to see fireworks and meet characters and eat wherever I want to eat. I’m ok with a new version of fastpass. I actually like Disneyland Maxpass better than WDW fastpass plus. I do think shows will be back in some way once capacity increases bc Disney needs places for people to be who aren’t on rides or eating or in line.
