Does anyone use the grocery game list to save money on groceries?

Lisa - Thanks for those great sites!!!! I think I could easily use one of those for the stuff we buy a lot of.

OK, I looked at all these couponing sites and I can see this is not a service I would use. Too time consuming to see what coupons I might want. Thanks for the links though. Maybe others can benefit.

I am still interested in the Publix 1 cent coupon does anybody know where you find that? If it's done in my area, I can't believe I've not heard of it before.

Okay--just went to Publix for necessities today. Can I just say it's like peaking into the presents under the christmas tree. All sorts of deals and I'm waiting patiently until Sunday :)

This is the issue I'm having. Apparently I didn't "fully" shop on Sunday and that little list I posted yesterday has doubled. I really need to go to the store but I'm trying to hold out until Monday if I can. Winn Dixie gives 5% off on Mondays(if you have AAA) and I can use the grocery game list then too. I'll probably have to go before then at least for milk but I'm holding back on all but absolute necessities.

Guys, lets keep this thread going! I'd love to hear more success stories and things you do. Where do you store this stockpile we're supposed to build up? I don't have a whole lot of extra room.

the publix 1 cent coupon is in our Sunday paper. At our local store you can ask for a coupon at customer service. it can also be used on monday...maybe the rules/ availability are dif. in your town. ASK!

I'm trying the grocery game even thought the only location is 15 miles away from me (not bad if the savings really are there). One thing I'm looking at that I am sure everyone is - is how much I truly saved. For example they had chuck roast buy 1 get 1 free. But the original per pound price I would never have paid - so I'm taking the total price divided by the # of pounds to get a per pound price and then taking what I normall pay for chuck roast and then subtracting my GG price and then multiplying that number by the number of pounds to get my TRUE savings.....not the savings listed on my receipt. It's a little more work but I will see if it is truly saving me enough money to continue the extra time & distance involved.

Where in the Sunday paper is it?
It's not on glossy paper, so the Publix ad doesn't stand out from the rest of the Sunday paper. It's usually 4-color newsprint, sometimes on a full page or spread in the first or second section. I think sometimes they may even do a four-page section, but I'm not sure.

Thanks Ksoehrlein! I thought I looked thru our paper thoroughly last week and didn't see a Publix insert. I either missed it or they don't do this in our area. We're on the West Coast of FL here. Anybody know if Publix does this in our area?

I remember reading somewhere that you could stock up at a dollar store type place. Same spices--but only $1 instead of $3-$4.

Nearest dollar store in our area is about 40 minutes away! I sure wish we had one nearby.

The Publix penny coupon is somewhere in an ad in the news section. This past Sunday it was on the last page of the Metro section. I have heard that Florida Publixes don't have the penny coupon because Publix is well established there.

Would you mind posting where the coupon is this Sunday so I can compare and see if I have one? Also, if anybody in FL has ever seen the penny coupon, let us know!

I guess you signed up for both WD and Publix--were the items different between the two? I have both and I know that WD does have some B1G1 free sales more often--so wasn't sure if it would warrant the extra subscription. WTG on your deals!!!
Lisa, did you ever go back on and sign up for WD too? You can do that during your trial at no additional cost.

I get the publix mailer in the Wends. paper. Publix said that is the only way they distribute. Sometimes Publix will have an insert with the coupons on Sunday.

P.S. Im also on the west coast of FL..... :flower:

Is Harris Teeter a store? On the main page of the grocery game it says:

Harris Teeter Coming July 31st!
New Harris Teeter LIST coming to NC, SC, FL, GA, TN, and VA July 31st!

I have never heard of this store (if it is one)

I got an email from them about this too. I assume it is a grocery store but it's not one I've ever heard of.

Yes Harris Teeter is a store--I remember them in SC I think.....and I've seen a couple in North Florida.

It must be a southeast chain that penetrated across the florida border.

They are pricey--so i've been told...but the poster with the cute daughter on DCL at Christmas in her siggy--I think she shops there and with her strategy--does pretty well.

No---I just bought bread this weekend and had I known I could have gotten it for a few pennies over a dollar.... :sad2: .

I didn't know I could trial more than one for just $1 :(.

I can stop in and check tomorrow--IF it is B1G1 free, I'll pick it up and put it in the freezer.
