Does anyone use the grocery game list to save money on groceries?

I am soooo excited. My local grocery chain is offering unlimited triples (yes you read right, UNLIMITED) next weekend, 28 and 29th of August. They are allowing up to .99 to be tripled for a total savings off one product of 2.97.

I have gone through my current supply and separated all the less than 1.00 coupons that I have and set them aside. I have also matched (just) a few with sale items in their ad.

For you professionals out there, what else should I do to prepare? Should I order coupons off the internet to match some of the sale items or just order some to get the triple?

TIA,
Eliza

If anybody out there lives in SE PA, Clemens is the name of the store, a local chain.

You have plenty of time to place a great order! :) I would look at everything that you could get free or cheap with coupons. Place your order tonight or tomorrow. I know that at thecouponclippers you can request priority mail which would be 3.85 for the flat rate envie. That is worth it if you will be saving a couple hundred in coupons. :) It is great that they already sent the flier out! WOW! We don't get that much notice. What store is this for? Do they have an online site? I would be happy to help you go thru & find some deals.

Yes, I was referring to cleaning supplies, ziplocs, foil, laundry detergent, fabric softener, paper towels, toilet paper etc... basically all of that stuff we buy but can't eat. ;)

Cleaning Supplies, Ziplocs, & foil I typically get at the drugstore.
Paper Products - I typically get at Costco.
Laundry Detergent & Fabric softner I get at Costco as well, BUT for the past year or so I've lucked out and happened upon detergent in the 1/2 bins at my grocery store. I just got 5 boxes of Purex for $3.79 a box (60 loads). That should last me a while!

Thanks for the offer. I searched their site, and all they have available is the current ad, no store inventory (bummer) so I can't do a full search. However, if you want to help me with the ad and match with coupons, that would be great!

TVMIA (Thanks very much in advance)

If you already have the ad for next weekend, go thru it and match up sale items to coupons on thecouponmom. That way you will know what coupons are out there. There is a nice search function on that site that allows you to do that.

If the store is not too far from you, go check out what items are priced around $2.25(.75 x 3- because you really won't find many coupons between .75-.99). Write them down and again check to see what coupons are out.

If I needed coupons for triples, I would probably try a site like Mycoupons. and post on their CRS board. They also have a search function to make it easier to find what coupons you are looking for. Sometimes it is easier to order from a service, but some of them seem to charge alot. I have to be pretty desperate to pay 10 cents for a coupon.

Make sure you order your coupons ASAP and let whoever you order from know that they are for a sale so that they mail right away and you get them in time.

Keep in mind that just because the coupon for your area was $1/1, there might still be .75/1 coupons for the same item out there. Different areas get different values.

I would expect that their shelves will be cleaned out early, so go to the sale as soon as you can.

Hi everyone, I have been reading this thread on/off since it started. Now that my DD is back in school, I finally have time to get this going. I joined the grocery game and I will be using the HEB near my house, I have always clipped coupons (just not using them the right way ;) ), and I usually shop on Mon/Tues anyway, so that will work for me.

I have a couple of quick questions, they have probably already been asked, but I have not read all 30 pages of the thread.

1. Usually I make up my weekly menus, and then make my grocery list from that, and adding all of the normal weekly staples, milk, juice, cheese, etc. So with using "Teri's List" should I continue to buy what I normally would and just add on the green/blue items for the purposes of stock piling? Obviously once I have a good stockpile going, I will not need to buy much of what would be on my "weekly menu" since I will already have it.

2. I do not have a chest freezer, so what is the best way to store meat without getting the ice inside the package?

I have already gotten some great hints/ideas from this thread, so thanks to everyone for their help! :goodvibes

Hi Eliza! I'm right in Doylestown, so I get the Clemens flyer as well. They had the triple coupon ad on their LAST flyer too. I think that may be something they do every two weeks! It looks like the flyer is good for two weeks and the triple coupon sale is on the last weekend of it. Hopefully they keep it up! Which store do you shop at? I normally don't shop there, but when I do I go to the Plumsteadville store. I think it is one of the older stores - really small and cramped.
Happy Shopping!

These are the deals that I see just scanning the ad.

BC Cookie mix bags 2/3 use 2 50/1 C = FREE!!!
Kleenex 1.75 use 50/3 C = 1.25 each :(
Poptarts 1.69 - 40/1 C = .49 each

Hi Erin,
I didn't realize they did this so often. I will definitely have to continue to watch for this sale. I shop the Trappe store, it is right on my way home from work, nice, bright and airy. I guess I need to make sure that I get there first thing on Saturday morning. Also this week is trips at Giant. I just went through my stash and my Sunday coupons (delivered Sat) to clip clip clip!

Thank you Lisa! I have coupons for each of these with the exception of the poptarts, I don't have any coupons for those. Erin responded earlier that this ad is run quite often so I am going to try and go without purchasing/trading any coupons this time and see what happens. I will continue to stockpile, I have the room, and get my coupon stash up. I don't have any GG stores in my state that I shop at so I will continue to do my best on my own. Thanks for all your help. I will let you know how I make out the next two weeks with my trips.

bumping up for tomorrow morning. I can't wait for my new list!

I find it kind of odd and strange that I'm so looking forward to going grocery shopping every week now. Weird, huh?
