Does anyone think Luke from the VP DVD is a little on the annoying side??

I mean, the relaxed dude is okay, and the two women are tolerable but Luke is the kid in the back of your history class who never shuts up. :p

Oh my gosh, I've got to tell DH about this in the a.m.!
YES!! The guy is incredibly annoying to us...

One good thing is that the new DVD we just rec'd,
(with copyright 2006 as well as updated pricing for 2006),
has greatly improved the "lead" girl's annoying voice
on the DVD from late 2004/early 2005.
The way she talked made us nuts watching the first DVD,
but it's obvious they went back & re-shot most of the sequences,
with EE added in - unfortunately the greasy haired annoying guy
does the whole segment for EE :sad2: .

Now we can't wait for the new DVD Disney must be working on,
as the 2006 one still has "Happiest Celebration" all through it. :woohoo:

I think they tried too hard to make him "cool". Probably in an effort to win over the teen crowd and convince them that there were things to do at Disney that would hold their interest... but tried too hard non the less and it showed. Luke was a bit much - I doubt he would appeal to any teenager that I know. they would most likley think he was dorky.

I like Luke and the relaxed guy the best. Luke is a lot like myself when I get hyped up to go on rides :cool1:

I make jokes to my GF all the time about Luke-- he's sort of become an extended "running gag" for us. I'll use "Luke-isms" with her as a joke in completely ridiculuous situations. I think Luke strikes a nerve, because, like ImagineEar said, Luke is like "Wow, I'm this really cool dude who's just like all other teens and stuff."

My favorites:
"That's what I'm talkin about!"
"Yeah baby!" (Said while shoving fingers into the camera)
"Me un favorito!"
... and any and all references to a ride's "Hurl Factor." :rotfl:

I don't mind Luke. Ithink the relaxed guy is a riot! It's the girl I can do without. I find her annoying. This being said, we are leaving in three days so I will have to watch the DVD a few more times anyway!

My son is 14 and he thinks Luke is a bit much.

He reminds me of the kid that wants to fit in with the in crowd. Instead of just being himself, he tries to speak and act like the members of the group he wants to be a part of. It comes across as fake and forced.

I love Dave and the lady that show all of the kid stuff. Erin's voice drives me nuts. :sad2:

The Luke character acts and moves like some gang member, really can't stand him. Last video was bad, this one is worse. Get some real people with grown up gestures and attitudes.

We don't watch the Happiest celebration version that much (primarily becuase of Luke.) We prefer the version right before that one :thumbsup2

We refer to the fast paced morning sprint-from-ride-to-ride regimen as "Commando Mode", as I'm sure most eveyone else does. When it comes to afternoons, however, we're planning to go into "Full DAVE mode", and slow the pace down.

"Anybody seen a good bench...?"

(and, yes, we find the "Luke" character extremely annoying...of course, I'm 52...)

I like when he does the Rock, Paper, Scissors for a Coke! Lots of ice!! I'm goind to do that with my husband next time we go!

Luke is arguably the most annoying character Disney has ever created.

Amen and Amen; he does have his ride/attraction priorities straight, however...

OMG - I drove my husband nuts our last trip. I kept on doing the "That's what I'm talkin about" while at the parks (I find Luke really annoying too).

:happytv: My DD 7 and DS 12 love Luke (our DVD is from Feb 2006). Maybe it's an age thing. I like him only because they get such a kick out of it.
